CHRIS CRABTREE AND RON ROMER Class of Local man to claim bride in RUTH TORGESON AND KENNETH ceremony Sixty Announcement of the engagement and forthcoming marriage of Miss Chris Crabtree to Ron H. Romer is made Mrs. Arlene Crabtree of by the mother of the bride-to-bNorth Ogden. She is also the daughter of the late Clent Crabtree is Weber State college. June 4 has been set by the couple for their marriage date in the Ogden LDS temple. They will be honored that evening at a reception at the bride's home, 72 East 3300 North, Ogden. Following their marriage the couple will make a home in Ogden while the bridegroomm continues hi s schooling. 1 .1, -- ,A .ci!! .vl, ..... installs officers at Central school faculty honors retiring friend flflUW fTlay Members of the faculty of Central school in Brigham City gathered for a delightful evening recently to honor veteran teacher Ruth Armstrong, who will retire after many years of teaching in the district. The event was held at the Crase Crossroad cafe in on May, with almost all the faculty members attending to make it a very pleasant party. Mrs. Armstrong is an art lover, so the group had ordered a selection of desert scene paintings and let her take her choice as their gift to her. Vocal students from Box Elder High school presented some numbers under the direction of Roger Olsen, and Anna Lee Webster presided at the electronic piano as the group joined in community singing. Tribute was also paid to Mrs. Erlyn Vest, who will be moving to Alaska soon and who has taught at the school during the past year. Tre-mont- meeting Sixty years later, the Box Elder High school class of 1917 had a marvelous time visiting and remembering their school days as they gathered on May 12 at Maddox Ranch house. Present for the occasion were 19 class members and partners, three teachers, two widows of deceased classmates and some guests for a total of 42 who spent cled Juno the afternoon visiting and catching up on experiences of the years since their high school graduation. W. H. Giffiths entertained with musical numbers and led the group in old time songs that brought back a flood of memories of the times at which they' were sung in the past. Each person then gave a and told of incidents which called back pleasant and humorous memories. Alice Eddy LeCornu read a poem written by a former class member, Fern Dailey for the class reunion. Miss Christen sen has attended College of Southern Utah and Weber State college. She has been active in drama, with her last role " " being one of the leads in Much Ado About Nothing. The prospective bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. LaMar L. Barlow, formerly of Bountiful now residing in Kalamazoo, Mich. He graduated last year from Weber State college with a composite major in history, psychology and philosophy. He is also a graduate of Bountiful High school, and served and LDS mission in California. A reception honoring the couple will be held on June 10 in the Brigham City North stake center. Sixth North and Third East, from 7 to 9 p.m. Following their marriage the couple will make their home in Ogden until autumn when they will move to Boston, Mass., where the bridegroom will attend Harvard university. Kenneth served as deacons and teachers quorum president and as first assistant to the bishop in the priest quorum. He is now an elder in the Perry First ward. Oral Mathias served as chairman and master of ceremonies of the event, assisted by his wife Edna,, Lamont, Glover, Alda Crawford Call, and Vesta Bigler Davis. All attending felt the event was an outstanding success and voted overwhelmingly to repeat it in future years. A vote of thanks to the management and personnel at Maddox Ranch House, to Glen Compton for his pictures, and to the committee was taken to show gratitude for the very pleasant afternoon of remembrances.
