That may have been so in Mr. Shakespeares time, but now there is a big drive on to improve our communications in our families. I read last week that the man of few words probably got that way after saying I do. It has long been recognized that men think women talk too much. Thats debatable. I tried to find out what the great thinkers had to say about it and Plato said As empty vessels make the loudest sound, so they that have the least wit are the greatest babblers. Now that seems to say it could be either men or women. I do believe in the right kind of communication. The right kind involves both talking and listening. I believe that if nature intended us to talk more than listen she would have given us two mouths and only one ear. Now, if you dont believe lack of communication can get you in trouble, why not call up the Jim Valentines and ask them. And if youll pull up that old easy chair, Party Line has some most interesting news for you. Leaves Wife Heard that the Jim Valentines were just back from a three-weetrip to California and Arizona. I called Eva to find out the details and decided I was mighty lucky to find her. If things hadnt turned out right she might still be sitting on that bench in San Diego. The Valentines, with their good friends Mr. and Mrs. Glen Mecham, left here on Jan. 10. The Mechams went to Bellflower where they visited his broth, er and Mr. and Mrs. Earl Mecham. The Valentines, who had their mobile home, visited Anaheim. They visited Disneyland, Knotts Berry Farm and other interesting tourist attractions. Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Moyes came from their home in Yuma, Ariz., and joined the Valentines and the Mechams. They all had breakfast at the Earl Mechams and Earl took them on a tour of Los Angeles and nearby areas including Long Beach and the Queen Mary. They all went to San Diego where the Valentines stayed for a week and took a Greyhound tour of the area. They all toured the San Diego zoo and took a i jr if wjr Babies Arrive and Mrs. LeRoy Nate Pierce, Arlington, Va., are riding on cloud two with the arrival of their twin sons born on Feb. 4. Buzzing Around Visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. William Yates last week were his mother, Mrs. Mary Yates of Green River, Wyo., and an aunt, Ada Goddard of Rock Springs, Wyo. They spent a couple of days with the Yates family. It was good to hear that Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Beail of Portland, Ore., were in town saying hello to relatives and friends this week. While they were here, they were houseguests of Mr. and Mrs. Leon Packer. They also visited other members of the Packer family and spent an afternoon in Salt Lake City with the Boyd Packers.
