Burkholder, has taken a serious look at the value of wildlife and after many and complicted computations; has pegged the value figure of a skunk at $11.16. The writer presents his case in facts and figures, weighing predations on game birds versus elimination of undesirable insects and mammals, damage and destructiveness versus estethetic value, and the black and white pot lickers worth as a pelt. A Friday A new Friday night public swim is being offered at the Box Elder Junior High pool beginning this week (Jan. 28), Brigham City Recreation Director Jack Winn announced. Time for the open plunge will be 7:30 to 9 p.m. with the price of admission placed at 25 cents. A life guard will be on duty during the period, the director noted. The idea has come about due to many people asking for swimming time. The Brigham City Swim team normally uses the pool Mondays, Tuesdays, Cranking all this information into his computer, he adjusts the whole with a known Fudge Factor to derive his $11.16 value. Is a skunk worth a saw buck and a little more to most folks? One trapper shakes his head in disgust at the mention of a skunk. Farmers cringe at the memory of a late night Thursday and Fridays from 6 to 9 p.m. They have decided that on Friday nights, it is more convenient to put their older and younger groups together at the early session, 6 to 7:30 p.m. Therefore, instead of throwing the time away, the city can afford to allow the general public open plunge swim time. We hope you people who like to swim will take advantage of the time. If it becomes a success, we will extend the time limit to 9:30 or 10 p.m., the director said. . . .
