Missionaries return, visit Abbotts here by Flo Munson Spending the past week visiting Mr. and Mrs. Donald Abbott and family were Mrs. Abbotts stepfather and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Nuel Cardon who have just grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Verl Udy. SP7 and Mrs. after returned fulfilling a Fiji LDS mission on the Island of Niue (pronounced Neeway). The Cardons have now returned to their home in Mesa. Returning Wednesday after a holiday vacation was Mrs. Edith Welling. She met her daughter Enid Welling of Seattle in Los Angeles and they spent 10 exciting days in Mexico City. Among the points of interest they visited were the Floating Gardens, the Pyramids, Taxco (the greatest silver city in the world), enjoyed attending the ballet Folklorico, the University of Mexico, the Shrine of Faudalupe, etc. They also visited Mr. and Mrs. Pat McClellan in Albany, Calif. Enid then returned to Seattle and Mrs. Welling went on to visit her grandson Robert McClellan and his wife and family in Mountain View. She also visited her brother and sister-in-laMr. and Mrs. William Morgan in San Jose and Mrs. Avis Birch in Campbell. She came home by plane. A pot luck dinner party was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Smith Friday evening. Guests were Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Kimber of Ogden, Mr. and Mrs. Bart Flint of Logan, Mr. and Mrs. Dean Anderson, Mr. and Mrs. Gayle Christensen and Mr. and Mrs. Earl Madsen of Tremonton. Visit Zundels Visiting Mr. and Mrs. Rosel Zundel during the week were Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Nish and daughter Lesa of Logan, Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Peterson of Magna and Horton Nish of River Heights. Carol Richards of Logan was an overnight guest at the home of her parents Mr. and Mrs. Rex Richards and family Friday. Preston Garn of Centerville visited Mr. and Mrs. Gale Welling Thursday. Mr. and Mrs. Rosel Zundel are spending this week in Salt Lake City at the home of their and daughter Mr. and Mrs. Dale Valdez and family. Their grandson Brian son-in-la- Valdez, seven-year-ol- of son d Dale and Kathy Valdez entered the Primary Childrens hospital Tuesday and underwent major surgery on his feet Wednesday. Gale Welling is recuperating after being involved in a car accident in Beaver Dam last Tuesday. He received three broken ribs and many bruises. His son Steve who was driving the car received bruises. Mrs. Opal Groth is in Southern California where she will spend the coming several weeks visiting relatives. Mr. and Mrs Ace Godfrey were in Ogden on business Friday. R.T. Nish has returned home in Logan after spending the holidays visiting his and daughter Mr. and Mrs. s son-in-la- Rosel Zundel. Mr. and Mrs. Tim Parker spent Saturday visiting Mrs. Parker's parents Mr. and Mrs. Verl Udy. Mabel Mrs. Oyler of Tremonton is visiting her and daughter Mr. and Mrs. Gale Welling for an indefinite period. Stacy Udy of Satl Lake City spent the weekend with her father Boyd Udy and her son-in-la- BR RC&D of the Bear River Resource Conservation and Development (RC&D) project will hold their annual meeting at the Tremonton Civic Center, Jan. 16 at 1:30 pirn. According to Marion Olsen, president, board executive members for the coming year will be named, progress reports heard, and goals for 1975 set at the meeting. President Olsen stated that RC&D is a very effective forum through which local people are able to team up with state and federal agencies to improve the economy and environment of the project area. Sponsors of the Bear River RC&D project include county commissions from Box Elder, Cache and Rich in Utah, and Franklin and Oneida in Idaho; soil along with six cities, eight conservation districts, and agriculturally-orienteeight organizations. Jerry Earl have in home left for their Warrenton, Va., after spending the holidays visiting Jerrys parents Mr. and Mrs. G. Emerson Earl and family. They also visited Lynda Earls parents Mr. and Mrs. Warren and family in Haycock Deweyville. Prior to their leaving a family dinner party was held at Maddox Ranch House in Perry. Attending were Mr. and Mrs. Warren Haycock and daughter Susan of Deweyville, Mr. and Mrs. G. Emerson Earl and son Clinton and SP7 and Mrs. Jerry Earl. Sunday Mr. and Mrs. G. Emerson Earl visited their son Dan in Blackfoot. They enjoyed a lovely dinner together. The Garland Stake High Priests and their partners and the widows enjoyed a party hosted by the Fielding Ward High Priests and their partners held in the Fielding Cultural Hall Saturday evening. Myron J. Wood is the Fielding High Priest group leader. Verl Anderson was in charge of the program. President Donald the conducted Petersen evenings entertainment. Mrs. Randy Archibald sang three vocal solos accompanied by Mrs. Russell Johnson. Mrs. a gave Welling LeRoy Just A humourous reading Mothers Day. Marvin Ashby of Garland sang two vocal solos accompanied by his wife, Yvonne Ashby at the piano. Marvin also played his guitar and led the entire group in several songs. singing President Ray Sorenson made a few remarks. A delicious steak dinner was served to approximately 180. Overnight Guests Overnight guests of Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Welling and family Friday was Mrs. Wellings sister Mrs Grace Tustison and of South son Nicholas Pasadena, Calif. Visiting Mr. and Mrs. Afton Adams Thursday were Mr. and Mrs. V. J. Woodruff and Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Woodruff and daughter of Wahkiacus, Wash. Mrs. V. J. Woodruff and Mrs. Adams are sisters. The Woodruffs came especially to attend funeral services for Mrs. Woodruffs brother, Calvin Kay in Tremonton. Mrs. Fred Hess attended a wedding reception held for her nephew Rodney Spackman and his new bride the former Evelyn Sato held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Spackman in Lewiston Saturday afternoon. Visiting Mrs. Vivian Godfrey in Clarkston Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Godfrey and daughter Ilene. Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Udy visited Ralphs mother Mrs. Ina Udy in Mendon Thursday. Miss Mary Jane Moss spent Sunday visiting her parents Mr. and Mrs. Keith Moss and family. Sunday Mr. and Mrs Fred Hess and family visited Fred's mother Lavonia Hess in Ogden. They remained overnight and returned to their home in Salt Lake City Tuesday. and Rawlm Andersen daughter Melanie spent the weekend visiting Rawlins parents Mr. and Mrs. Noel R. Anderson in Salt Lake City. Rawlin also visited his wife who is receiving medical care in the Holy Cross hospital. Mr. and Mrs. DeVere Adams accompanied by Mrs. Louise Roderiquez of Tremonton and Mrs. Linda Nelson of Brigham City attended an annual awards program held in the Apache party sales in Salt Lake City Saturday evening. Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Earl Gordon of Smithfield were dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. DeVere Adams and family. Sunday evening Mr. and Mrs. DeVere Adams visited Mrs. Adams's nephew Randy who is receiving medical care in the Logan LDS hospital.
