Gunderson and family, Mr. and Mrs. John Mellias and family of Salt Lake City; Mrs. John L. and family, Boise; Hadfield Mr. and Mrs. Leon Hadfield, Kearns; Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Gardner, Dewey viile; Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Barfuss and family, Mr. and Mrs. Byron Bronson and family, Mrs. Joe Smith and family all of Tremonton and Mrs and Mrs. Jack Hamilton and Mrs. Mead Stokes and family of this city. Meet Together Mr. and Mrs. Kent L. Jensen motored to Ogden Tuesday night to join members of her Mrs. family at a Eddie Sneider and Mr. and Mrs. George Carver hosted the affair. The barbecue-buffe- t was held in the lovely garden of the Carvers. The party was held so the family could honor Mr. and Mrs. Fred (Florence) Struve of Sacramento, Calif., who are visiting here for a few days. Mrs. Janet Stokes was there from Ogden and Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Heslop of Salt Lake City. Dropping in to say hello during the evening were the Carvers children and grandchildren, Mrs. Larry (Carol) Jensen and Scott, Todd and Judy, Jim Carver and Mrs. Dar (Jean) Belnap and daughter Becky. Following dinner they enjoyed visiting and looking at pictures. r. Dr. and Mrs. Charles A. Munns will be honored at an open house on Sunday afternoon in observance of their golden wedding anniversary. ANNIVERSARY Open house to honor couple on anniversary In honor of the 50th wedding anniversary of Dr. and Mrs. Charles A. Munns, their children are hosting an open house on Sunday, Aug. 4 from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Brigham City Community Center, 24 North Third West, and Invite all friends and relatives to call. They request that no gifts be brought. Dr. and Mrs. Munns were married on Aug. 7, 1924, in the Logan LDS temple. A native of Brigham City, Dr. Munns is the son of Arthur J. and Mrs. Mary Ann Munns. He graduated from Box Elder High school, Utah State university and the University of Illinois Dental school. He has been practicing for 51 years in Brigham City, and is a member of the State and National Dental Association. Active in City He has been a member of the Brigham City Rotary club for 51 years, with a record of 100 percent attendance for 43 of those years. He was president in 1942, when the club was asked to take charge of going away activities of departing ser- vicemen. Dr. Munns has been active in the LDS church in many capacities. He served in the Brigham City First Ward Bishopric twice and in the Stake High Priest Presidency. Mrs. Munns was born in Smithfield to Robert and Beatrice M. Reese. She is also a graduate of Box Elder High school. Mrs. Munns is an honorary member of the Civic Improvement club, and has been active in the LDS Church, having served in many responsible positions. They are the parents of three children: Mrs. Melvin ((Ellen Mae) Manning of Kaysville, Mrs. Wayne (Gene) Rich of Logan, Dr. C. R. Munns, Huntingtoq Beach, Calif. They have 12 grandchildren and three Dr. Munns is a fan of Box Elder High school, noting that he was president of his class in 1919 and his son held the same position in 1952. Owen are welcoming their new baby son. He arrived on July 26 and will be named Zachery Day. Tom is stationed with the Air Force in Grand Forks N.D. Grandparents are Lt. Col. and Mrs. Devon Day, Merced, Calif., and Phyllus K. Owen of this city. He four also has great-grandparent- s. Keep Busy Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Nelson have been busy the past few weeks. They attended the Cazier family reunion at Afton, Wyo., then traveled to Spokane to see Expo 74. On the way to Washngton they visited the Lynn Richmans in Boise. After they left Spokane they visited the Lee Andersons in Othello, Wash., and his cousins in Bremerton. They joined his brothers and sisters in a Nelson family at Bear Lake. His Mr. brother and sister-in-laand Mrs. Vernon Nelson, their daughter and family from California returned with them for a few days visit in Brigham City. They also spent some time with his sister Thelma Nelson and brother and sister-in-laMr. and Mrs. Paul Nelson and Mr. sister and brother-in-laand Mrs. Earl Stuart. Mrs. Powers interest in art and design led her to study fashion design at the University of Utah, but her real career as a businesswoman began almost by accident some 35 years ago. She watched a flower-makin- g exhibition, bought a few supplies and styled her own flowers, and her husband was so pleased that he took them along on a business trip. Mrs. Arvilla Powers shows one of 31 paintings which she will have on show at the Tiffany Room in ZCMI during August. interest group sets fireside meet LDS Monthly Special Fireside for members "take off" for annual camp session 4-- H Upon his return, he had orders for the flowers designed by his wife and that was the beginning of Powers Flowers, Inc., and the family business has been in the Flower power field ever since. In 1970, Mrs. Powers retired and became interested in oil painting. She has taken instruction from several artists. LDS Interest group will convene Sunday evening, Aug. 4, in the Box Elder North LDS stake center under the direction of High Council advisor Sidney Jensen at 8 p.m. Conducting the meeting will be Merrill Glenn, president of Box Elder South stake Special Interest, who has also been in charge of the program preparations. Brother Rex Reeve, past regional director for the four Box Elder stakes will be the featured speaker. He is a member of Valley View ward in Salt Lake City and is Patriarch of that stake. He has had wide experience in lecturing and is popular speaker in many areas. The Gary Huckaby family of Willard will present musical numbers with refreshments and a social hour to follow the meeting.
