Native of Plymouth has party for guests Corinne Comments Corinne school makes annual student awards by Brenda B. Anderson Sarah Wood, reporter, informed me of their meeting June 3, at 10 a.m., at the home of their leader, Karla Smoot. Newly elected officers are as follows: president Marcie Reeder, Peggy Thomas, Secretary Wendy Sato, reporter Sarah Wood, and chairman safety and clean-uShela Smoot. They had lesson 1, Getting Ready to Cook, and chose their club name, Five Silly Sifters. Guests at the Pack Hatch home Memorial Day were Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Jensen from San Mateo, Calif. Mrs. Jensen (Elnora) is a sister of Packs. Corinne school held an award assembly May 24. Steven Johnson, principal, conducted. Those who received awards for 100 percent attendance for the year are as follows: David Marble, Greg Biddle, Shauna Roche, Christine Biddle, Craina Jaussi, Cari Kishimato, Marsha Trimble, Mike Jeppesen, Natalie Charles Monsen, Woodward, Analee Nelson, p Catherine Pammier, Dalene Gibbons and Russel Jaussi. Awards Those who received awards for the Safety Poster Contest were: 1st place, Kim Carter; 2nd place, Blake Marble; and 3rd place, Shirley Ross; Mary Thomas, Catherine Pommier, Dana Hardy, Cari Kishimoto and Rebecca Wilkins. Athletic Ability awards went to Traci Craner, Barbara Ricks and Justin Anderson. Outstanding artists, Laloni Bott and Ralph Trimble. Leadership Ability, Kyle Smoot. Awarded as special friend to all of the children was Raeko Yagi, secretary at the school. Those who received certificates of recognition from Box Elder School District for volunteer services were as follows: LaVone Woodward, Diana Jeppesen, Larri Norton, Joetta Bailey, Harold Raeko Yagi, Edna Hardy, Ginger Burt and Lolia Hendricksen. Field trips Corinne School took this spring were as follows : Those in Miss Beechers kindergarten, Mrs. Nelsons first grade, and Mrs. Potters 2nd grade went to Salt Lake City. They visited Hogle Zoo and Liberty Park. A very tired group of boys and girls had a good time. Mr. Pecks 3rd and and Mr. 4th graders Christiansens 5th graders made a trip to the Golden Spike National Monument on May 10th to enjoy the festivities on that day. Mr. Johnsons 6th grade class finally made it to Lagoon after being rained out one day. They came home tired and penniless. Many thanks to parents who took time out to help on these trips. These are the highlights of the school year for the students. Thank you Mr. Johnson and your staff, custodians, and cooks for a fine school year. Thanks to the bus drivers for seeing that our children get to school and home safely. Corinne wards Relief society closing social "Spring Fling, was held at the cultural hall May 31. President Doris Bingham conducted. A dinner of baked ham, baked beans, potato salad, rolls and butter, lemonade and strawberry pie was served to about 35 guests. A game, find the missing name, under the direction of Jackie Lichfield, proved to be Pre-Algebr- program, under the direction of counselor Beulah Wells, was a pantomine by Dana Hardy and Wendy Wells. Mr. and Mrs. Karl Josephson from Brigham City presented songs and a short skit. Josephson accompanied himself on the banjo. Special guests were Bishop Vern Wilkins and counselors Robert Jones and Dee Hardy. An enjoyable evening for all attending. Those who served on the luncheon committee were Reva Nelson, Harriet Wilkins, Marsella Hume, Joy Gilbert, Donna Fay Bott, Joyce Nelson, Barbara Trimble, Mary Reeder and Norma Bosley. Dyan Welch served as publicity chairman. Bishop and Sister Wilkins with their family made a trip to Jensen, May 27 30. Jensen is a small town near Vernal. They visited with Bishop Wilkins brothers, sister and mother. His mother came back with them for a longer visit. A niece and her husband will come to get her to take her back to Vernal Wednesday or Thursday. Guests at the home of Mrs. Verda Welch over the Memorial Day weekend were Mr. and Mrs. Keith Welch and family from Salt Lake, Mr. and Mrs. Cyril Welch and family from Brigham City and Mr. and Mrs. Terry Welch and family from Montpelier, Idaho. A trip to the Tremonton cemetery and a afternoon picnic Monday highlighted the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. George Welch and family enjoyed Memorial Day in Ogden with Dyans sisters and brother after visiting Ogden and Tremonton cemeteries. They enjoyed the first day of Utah fishing up Box -- Elder Canyon. So did a lot of other people. George and Larry and David Jaussi spent the first Idaho fishing day up Paris Creek. Best fishing theyve had so far. People who have moved from the Corinne area include: Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Danner and family who moved to Denver, Mrs. Joseph Stokes and daughter Jana Ruth and Mrs. Newel Nish visited Mrs. Violet Udy in Ogden Thursday. Mrs. Udy had as her houseguests her and daughter Mr. and Mrs. Clyde (June) Argo of South America. Mrs. Stokes and Mrs. Argo are real good friends. They all enjoyed a dinner party at Brattens Grotto. Mrs. Udy is formerly of Plymouth. Visiting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Oleen Josephson during the week were Mr. and Mrs. Don Markgraf and family of Springville, Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Peterson and family of Orem, Mr. and Mrs. Leon Williams of Logan, Mr. and Mrs. John Williams of Ogden, Mr. and Mrs. George Smith of Pleasant Grove. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Secrist spent Monday and Tuesday at Grays Lake on business. They also attended a rodeo in Freedom, Wyo. Mr. and Mrs. Newel Nish spent Tuesday evening visiting Mr. and Mrs. Carl Josephson in Brigham City. Visiting Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Steed during the forepart of the week were Mr. and Mrs. Eardley Hawks of Ogden and Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Coleman and two children of Hyrum. Visiting Mr. and Mrs. Newel Nish Thursday were Mr. and Mrs. Lee Goddard of Malad. son-in-la- Returns Home Oleen Josephson returned after receiving medical care at the LDS hospital in Logan. Saturday Mr. and Mrs. Josephson visited Mrs. Maude Call in Malad. Mrs. Call has just returned from an home Tuesday Alabama-Florid- LDS Mission. a Ricky Stokes who is attending Weber State College in Ogden spent the weekend visiting his parents Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Stokes and family. Spending Sunday visiting Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Secrist were Mr. and Mrs. Michael Telford of Paul, Idaho. Miss Joan Secrist of Provo spent the weekend with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Secrist. Mrs. Ruth Steed, Mrs. Louise Udy and Mrs. Edna Steed ate shower tended a for Mrs. Sharon Hale held at the refreshments served. Sharon was the recipient of lovely and useful gifts. Newel Nish spent Saturday visiting Mr. and Mrs. Don Nish and family in Bountiful. Dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Steed and family Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Farrell Steed and family of Tremonton and Mr. and Mrs. Gary Bell and family of Plymouth. The occasion was little Tina Steed's second birthday. She received lots of fun gifts. Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Peterson spent the weekend visiting Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Peterson in Syracuse. Lynn and Floyd went on to Morni on business. Visiting Mrs. Henry Starr Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Bob Jensen and daughter Cindy of Salt Lake City.
