Show 18 BOX ELDER JOURNAL, Brigham City, Utah Thursday, April 11, 1974 At BC Senior talent will be presented after the Fridays senior citizens luncheon, April 12, at the Brigham City Community center. There is so much talent in Box Elder county and some of it will be in evidence at this show, Director Hazel Kaiser said. Orson Christensen will play the harmonica, Dora Grott will give a reading, Floyd Knudson will be on hand with his Danish humor, along with Mish Petersen and Tiny Valentine who will kabitz and probably sing a little. San Fran- cisco will do the Charleston and Melda Mund, Willard, will give an Easter reading with Ivy Graser, Willard, playing numbers on the piano. Lamar Page will play the melodica. If time permits, Lilia Heslop will lead some community singing. The luncheon will feature chicken and noodles, carrot and raisin salad, vegetable, homemade bread, fruit cocktail cake, coffee and punch. Reservations must be made by 1 p.m. on Thursday prior to the luncheon. The luncheon costs 64 cents and is served at 12 noon. All retirees and seniors are invited to attend. Monday Lunch Break Mondays lunch break will include celebrating birthdays for April. Everyone is invited to attend and the honored guests will be given a special birthday card. Following, bingo will be played and all those participating should bring a white elephant or 25 cents. Special blackout gifts are given. Men as well as ladies are urged to enjoy this special party. Clubs or foursomes are invited to have lunch for 50 cents and play cards in the lounge following. Shuffleboard players may play from 10 a.m., have PTA slates lunch, and play later. Following the birthday party on April 15, square dancing will begin at 6:30 p.m. Graduation are given new dancers and refreshments will be served. On April 22 a new beginners class will get started and the graduates will go into The who Golden Spike Swingers dance at 7:30 p.m. under the direction of Roy and Lucille certificates Westley. Party Day Tuesday is party day for the pool players. They are all invited to enjoy sandwiches, coffee and cookies for 25 cents. Pool play is free of charge and two tables are available. Pool begins at 10 a m. for all day play. Thursday night, April 11, will be the Easter dance for "Over Forty dancers. Dancing begins at 8:30 p.m. to the music of the Hull orchestra. Refreshments will be served during intermission with admission $1. Decorations will deck the hall for the Easter season. Lega Crowther and Ellis will be on hand to greet the new couples and make everyone acquainted. All couples who were married this past year through some activity at the center will be honored at this dance. A favor will be given each couple. This is a special dance for Easter and long dresses are in order for the gals. Expo Trip Reservations are being taken r "Josco the clown and his review" will perform in Willard Thursday (tonight), it was announced this week. The show is planned in the Willard LDS ward recreation hall starting at 7:30 p.m. The admission price is $2 per family and tickets will be available that evening. The show is sponsored by the Willard Elementary school PTA. all-sta- 1 men enlist in Navy BE Two young Box Elder county men, Phil Blaine Abel, son of Mr. and Mrs. Blaine Abel, 112 West First North, and Blake Dean Abel, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dean Abel, Corinne, enlisted in the U.S. Navy on March 30. After nine weeks of recruit training at San Diego, Calif., they will take two weeks leave, then report for Hospital Corp-smaschool at Balboa Naval hospital, San Diego. If there are any other young men or women interested in finding out about the Navy, they can contact Richard J. Baker, CS1, USN at the Brigham City post office every Wednesday at 12:30 p.m., or the Navy n Recruiting station, Willard reports Lady Lions meet, relatives visit by Madge H. Watts birthday party for Richard Dalton, son of Ralph and Hazel, was held at the home of his parents on his sixth birthday. Young friends sharing the event with him were Timothy Wells, Jonathan Hall, Shawn Campbell, Mathew Parkinson and Eric Strubel. They played party favor games, heard the story Billie Goats Gruff. Refreshments were traditional birthday cake and ice cream. Mrs. Chad (Marilyn) Mitchell and son Reid from Tucson, Arizona, flew here to attend the wedding of her mother Jean Waite and James Evans held March 30. She remained to visit with her brother and sister before returning home. Charles and Daneec Ford from Mountain Home Airforce Base, Idaho, were weekend visitors with Daneecs parents Mr. and Mrs. Merle Ipsen. Karma Blacker, North Pet-ronzi- of Mr. Ogden, daughter-in-laand Mrs. Fred Blacker, participated in the tabernacle pageant at the Primary General conference in Salt Lake City Thursday afternoon. She played the part of leader in ths production You are Laying the Foun- dation. Grandchildren Amy, Angela and Tyler Christensen spent eight days visiting their grandparents, Don and DeRae while their Christensen, parents, Dr. and Mrs. (Sherie) Christensen from Driggs, Idaho, vacationed in Las Vegas. They returned to Willard to spend four days visiting with family. They stopped in Springville to visit Sheries parents, and pick up the baby who was visiting grandparents there. On Saturday night Mr. and Mrs. Don Christensen and their children had a steak dinner at Maddox Ranch House in Perry. They included Mr. and Mrs. Reese Jensen and Mr. and Mrs. from Mike Christensen Brigham City. Mr. and Mrs. Don V. Christensen from Tremonton and Dr. and Mrs. Lewis Christensen from Driggs, Idaho. After dinner they met at the Reese Jensen home with all of their grandchildren for a visit. On Sunday they all met again at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Don Christensen for dinner and visiting. A lovely kitchen shower was Linda held for bride-to-b- e Larsen at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Mund on Saturday night. The party was hosted by Holly Mund and Colleen Barker. Visiting for three days at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Francis Witt, were aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. David West and two sons from Butte, Montana. Mr. and Mrs. Ira Archibald and Mr. and Mrs. Eldon visited in North Ogden Sunday afternoon at the beautiful home of Dale and Sandra Nelson. Two Brigham teenagers arrested in burglary Two Brigham City teenagers were nabbed Monday by police right after a burglary at a local drug center. The two youths, both 17, were arrested and charged with burglary. According to Police Capt. Jay M. Herbert, the teenagers were charged with entering Hamilton Drug Center, 470 North Main. The incident was discovered by police at 4:30 a.m. when the youths tripped a burglar alarm in the back room of the drug center. According to Captain Herbert Hamiltons was entered through an unlocked door connecting it with Smiths Food King, an all night supermarket. The youths fled after the burglar alarm was tripped, and they were apprehended a few blocks away. Patrolmen Art Redding, Peinis Abel, assisted Capt. Herbert in arresting the youths. Promontory Pointers Surprise visit, party highlight events by Doris Flint surprise visit from my grandmother was a treat. Grandma Ipsen (Maggie) visited for a few minutes Friday. She lives in Corinne but it seems I dont have time to stop. It was just great to see and visit with her. Leo and I attended the open house for another great person. She is Mrs. Rose Stokes. Later we visited with our daughter and husband, Tessa and Phil Reeder and sons, Stephen, Mike and Darrin. A new couple has moved into the area. They are Mr. and Mrs. Leon Jenkins. Leon lived here when just a lad. He is the son of Lloyd and Lois Jenkins of Thatcher. It is nice to have him and his wife, Dixie, here.
