Nebeker Wendell Perry Nebeker, 78, of 25 West Fourth South, Brigham City, died Monday evening at his home of a heart ailment, He was born Oct. 9, 1895, in Willard, a son of Brigham and Agnes Jane Perry Nebeker. He was reared and educated in Willard and graduated from Box Elder High school. He attended Utah State university and graduated from Rahes Auto school in Kansas City, Mo. He married Iva Lou Perry on Dec. 22, 1922, in the Salt Lake temple. He had lived in Logan and Perry before moving to Brigham City in 1963. He was a veteran of World War I and was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a past president of the North Association of Federal Employes and had served on the Perry Town board. Active in the I.DS church, he had served in the Sunday School superintendency in the Willard and Perry Wards and had been president, class instructor and scoutmaster in the MIA. He had been high priest secretary in the ward and Box Elder stake. He and his wife served as Box Stake tabernacle Elder missionaires for 15 years. He and his wife served a Florida mission from 1964 to 1965, where he was a cross city branch president. He was also LDS branch president of Pioneer Memorial Nursing home and had been a home teacher in the Brigham City Fifth ward. Surviving are his widow of Brigham City; two sons and two daughters, Byron P. Nebeker, Denton Willard; Wendell Nebeker, Dillon, Mont.; Mrs. Henry (Lawana) Bortolussi, Salt Lake City; Mrs. R. Keith Boise, (Gaye) Higginson, Idaho. Also surviving are 18 grandchildren; five greatgrandchildren; on brother, James R. Nebeker, Ogden; two sisters, Mrs. Marion Cook, Willard; Mrs. Beulah Morris, Salt Lake City. Funeral services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. in the Brigham City Fifth ward chapel with Bishop Max White officiating. Friends may call at Petersen Funeral chapel this evening (Thursday) from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday prior to services. Burial will be in Willard cemetery. INJURES FOUR Four Brigham City youths were hurt when this sedan struck the rear end of the unoccupied station wagon in the foreground Saturday Four youths hurt in auto crash Wendell Nebeker Laurie Thorne Laurie infant Thorne, daughter of Brent M. and Janis Whitehead Thorne, 657 North Sixth East, died a few hours after birth Saturday at the McKay hospital. She was born Feb. 15 in Ogden. Survivors include her parents and a brother, J. Brian Thorne, all of Brigham City and grandparents, Mrs. Lois Thorne of Perry, and Mr. and Mrs. Clifton Whitehead, Hunter. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday at Olsen Funeral chapel with Bishop Tom Purdue, of the Brigham City Twentieth LDS ward officiating. Burial was in the Brigham City cemetery. H. H. Woodyatt Kenneth Harvey Woodyatt, Willard, 150 South First West, Willard, died Tuesday in the Memorial Weber County hospital in Roy of cancer. He was born Sept. 27, 1922, in Willard, the son of Robert P. and Gladys E. Brunker Woodyatt. He married Connie Gittins Aug. 5, 1947, in Elko, Nev. Blaine L. Nelson Blaine LeRoy Nelson, 54, Salt Lake City, a former Brigham City resident, died Tuesday morning in Salt Lake City of a heart ailment. He was born Sept. 2, 1919, in Brigham City, the son of Soren H. and Ada Hamson Nelson. Nelson graduated from Box Elder High school and attended Utah State university. He joined the U.S. Army Air corps in 1942 and served for five years. Nelson lived in California and returned to Brigham City in 1956, where he worked at the Perry Cannery and American Sportswear company. He was an elder in the LDS church. Survivors include three brothers and five sisters, June L. Nelson, Ray H. Nelson, both of Brigham City; Arnold E. Nelson, Smithfield; Mrs. William (Pearl) Garrison, Mrs. William (Bea) McClure, Mrs. Clive (Edith) Garrett, Mrs. Robert (Beth) Hawkins, all of Salt Lake City; Mrs. Gordon (Doris) Thorupe, Bountiful. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 1 p.m. in Petersen Funeral chapel, where friends may call Friday evening 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday prior to services. Burial will be in the Brigham City cemetery. Woodyatt was reared and educated in Box Elder county, served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, was a member of the Plumbers Local 348, and Willard LDS ward. He had been active in the Baseball Western Boys association. Survivors include his widow of Willard; one brother and one sister, Don R. Woodyatt, and Mrs. Sam (Rhea) Dokos, both of Willard. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 11 a.m. in the Willard Ward chapel. Friends may call at the Olsen Funeral chapel Second North and Main Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and at the Willard Ward Relief Society room Friday one hour prior to services. Burial will be in the Willard cemetery. CARD OF THANKS We, the family of Martin M. Gardner, Mr. and Mrs. Stanley J. eastbound at the time of the mishap. and The her driver passengers, two and one youth, 18, all of Brigham City, were treated for minor injuries at Cooley Memorial hospital. The sedan hit a parked 1960 station wagon, however the name of the owner of the station wagon was not available from investigating officers. Damage to the station wagon was $300 and loss to the sedan was $400. The accident happened at about 11:30 p.m. and was investigated by Trooper Larry Gillman. Thompson 51 Nelson d The Stage Coach camp of DUP met at the Senior center in Tre monton Thursday afternoon with Mrs. Essie Peterson as hostess. The lesson on Pioneer autobiographies was given by Mrs. Lucille Shaffer. Merle Larson gave a history of her mother-in-laMrs. Anna Larson. The North Box Elder county Mrs. Dollorus president, Iverson of Bear River City was a special guest. A tour of the Community Center climaxed the afternoons entertainment. Delicious cherry tarts were served by the hostess. Visiting Mr. and Mrs. Don Thompson and Mr. and Mrs. Brigham Godfrey in Clarkston Wednesday were Mr. and Mrs. W. Lee Thompson. Mrs. Don Woodyatt Kenneth L. Four youths were injured Saturday night when the sedan they were riding in smashed into the rear of an unoccupied car on U.S. 30 S. just west of the Corinne interchange. According to Utah Highway Patrol troopers, the 1966 sedan was driven by a 16 year-olBrigham City girl, and was by Flo Munson Kenneth Blaine night west of Brigham City. The youths suffered minor injuries and were treated at Cooley Memorial hospital. Miss Ronna Hall, a student at Utah State university in Logan spent the weekend visiting her parents Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Hall. Open House Friday evening Mr. and Mrs. Dave Thomas accompanied by Mrs. Lavon Garfield and Rosalie Confer attended an open house in compliment to Steven Miller who claimed Phyllis Emmett as his bride. It was held in the Lions Den in Malad. Friday evening Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Thompson and Mr. and Mrs. Ferris Nielson visited Mrs. Vera Anema in Ogden. C. Weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. Rudy Bowcutt were Mr. and Mrs. Gene Sewell and children Stephanie, Mike, Steve and Richard of Driggs, Idaho. Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Claire Lunch, dancing slated Bowcutt and family joined them for a family dinner party. Spending Saturday visiting Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Jensen were Mr. and Mrs. Farrel Archibald and son Todd of Bountiful. Attend Concert Mr. and Mrs. Don Limb attended the Utah State university choralle held in the Fine Arts center in Logan Thursday evening. The group presented an evening of love songs. Their daughter Cathy Limb was one of the participants. Others participating from this area were Allen Beste, Laurin Ashby and Randy John. Visiting Mr. and Mrs. Don Limb and family Saturday were Mr. and Mrs. Ray Limb and sons Brian and Don Ray of Laketown. They also visited Mr. and Mrs. Elmo Christensen in Tremonton. Mrs. Roselin Draper is and visiting her brother-in-lasister Mr. and Mrs. Harry Holman in Sylmar, Calif. She is also visiting her ODean Jensen and family son-in-la- in New Hall and Mrs. and Mrs. Jed Allred in Tujunga. Mrs. Don Limb has been spending sometime in Malad visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John A. Evans. Blaine Thompson of Layton spent Monday visiting his mother Mrs. Lucetta Thompson. PETERSEN expressed their sympathy and friendship at the time of the death of our beloved husband and father Othello Stokes we wish to express heartfelt thanks. We wish especially to thank the ward bishopric, the Relief society, our friends, and all others who assisted in any way. Matinee dancing will follow the luncheon, with tapes played by Lowell Walters, of the Hull orchestra and other popular music. The Over Forty Dancers will have their regular dance this evening (Thursday) with music presented for dancing by the Hull orchestra from Ogden. All dancers are invited from surrounding areas, along with Ogden and Salt Lake dancers. Admission is $1 per person with free refreshments served at intermission, coffee, punch, cookies, popcorn. A community school bus has been scheduled to take seniors to the Villa in Salt Lake City to see Lucille Ball in Marne in which she wears $300,000 in clothes. April 18 is the date for the matinee at the special price for seniors of $1.50. Call the senior center for reservations as this special matinee will be limited in seating. will feature Hearing Aid Service The hearing-ai- d service, scheduled for Thurs. March 7 will have a new time in the lounge of from 3 to 5 p.m. with Merle Thurgood giving free cleaning and adjusting. will Thureood also have batteries for pur- chase. He will adjust or clean any brand aid. He is a representative of the Beltone company and is also vice president of the Utah Hearing Aid society. All seniors have a special invitation from Drauca Holmes of the Brigham City Community theatre to attend the murder mystery suspense play being presented this Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings, Feb. 21, 22 and 23 at the In- - At Willard Ward The annual scout banquet was held in the Willard ward on Friday night for scouts and cub scouts in the ward and their parents. Following dinner, David Lynn Hayes scoutmaster, presented a number of merit badges to the boys and three advancements. The advancements were a Star Scout award to Marlin Widdison, son of Mr. and Mrs. Glen Widdison and Tenderfoot badges to William Hall, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Hall, and Kent Nebeker, son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Nebeker. Speakers included, Clifford who presented Woodland movies of past cub pack activities and slides from the scout offices on the scout program. Bishop Fred Blacker, Linda Den Mother, OTolle, Brent Campbell and David Lynn Hayes. Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Nicholas accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Nelson and their family to Bountiful Sunday afternoon for a birthday dinner for Mrs. Nicholas at the home of son and daughter-in-laMr. and Mrs. Dee Anderson. Eleven people from Willard took a break from the winter doldrums and joined an overnight tour with the senior citizens to Jackpot, Nev. They stayed overnight, saw a couple shows and enjoyed the other tourist activities there. They were; Mr. and Mrs. Conrad Hancey, Mr. and Mrs. termountain theatre. Admission is free of charge. Square Dancing Square dancing is scheduled with beginners class at 6:30 p.m. and Golden Spike Swingers at 7:30 p.m. at the community center on Monday, Feb. 25. Police probe bike thefts Brigham City police investigated several bicycle thefts this past week, according to reports. Von Nielson, 30 South Fourth East, told police Sunday that two bicycles were stolen off the porch of his residence during the night. A bike was reported stolen Saturday morning by Anita Leopardi, 76 North Tenth East. It was taken from her home. Randy Schiffman, 521 West Second South, told police Saturday night that his bicycle was taken from his residence. City Recorder Tolman Burke, 321 East First South, complained to police Saturday that his three-speebike was taken from the basement of the new Brigham City hall. Sheila and her family are visiting in Utah from Show Low, CONTMENTAL TELEPHONE OF UTAH To those who by their acts of kindness one-ye- Senior program attrdcts many Activities are buzzing at the Senior Center in Brigham City with new people joining in the program, according to Director Hazel Kaiser. The Friday luncheon Feb. 22 will be the bingo birthday party day, due to the center closing on Monday, Feb. 18. All February birthdays will be honored and a special card given to each. White elephant prizes or 25 cents should be brought for the bingo games. Willard and Perry people will be picked up for the luncheon if they will contact Charles Lofthouse, Sue Gray, Mary Baker or Orvin Lemon. Menu for the luncheon will be meat loaf, potatoes and gravy, cole slaw, homemade bread and homemade pumpkin pie, coffee and punch. Ron Hampton and Anita The annual Blue and Gold banquet for the cub scouts and parents from the Willard Second ward was held Thursday night in the cultural hall at the ward chapel. Tollison Beames cubmaster, conducted the presentation of a number of awards which included a wolf badge to Bruce Thorpe, wolf badge and a gold and silver arrow to Todd Huckaby, bobcat and wolf badges to Denton Gordon, bear badge to Todd Baumann, silver arrow and recruiters badge to Tim Dickson, silver arrow to Brian Holmes, aquanaut and travelers awards to Shayne Hemseley, bobcat badge to Galen Struble and a Weblo activity badge to Robert Struble. Their was also 15 r pins pins and eight awarded to the boys. Other activities for the event included the decorating of nine cakes by the boys and fathers which were auctioned off, and audience melodrama which was read and directed by Judy Beames, and a get acquainted game. Radioman c Boyd Pixton and his wife, LaDawn arrived in Willard on Sunday after living in Guam for two years where Boyd worked in satalite communications. The young couple are on a y leave and will divide their time between his mother Dorothy Souter in Brigham City and LaDawns parents Mr. and Mr. Lloyd Mason in Willard. Enroute home they spent a week in Hawaii. At the end of the leave, Boyd will report for duty at Moffitt field in California where he will be working for the admiral of Pacific fleet.
