Gibbs and Mrs. Ellery Hall of Garland visited Sunday in Ogden with their brother-in-laand sister, Mr. and Mrs. Hyrum Hoskins. On their way to Ogden the car owned by Mr. and Mrs. J.C. Gibbs caught fire and was severely damaged but none of the occupants were injured. Mrs. Gordon Nelson of Perry a niece of Mr. and Mrs. David P. Gibbs took them from Brigham City to Ogden and Mr. and Mrs. Lee Nelson of Mantua brought them to their homes. Mr. and Mrs. Craig Morris and daughter of Ogden spent the weekend with Craigs parents, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Morris. Karen Johnston of Bountiful and Sherma Parker of Salt Lake City visited with them Satur mor-ning.- A w day. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Bowles of Sandy and Rodney T. John visited with friends and relatives here Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Anderson and family of Layton visited Monday with Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Hoskins. Ila Mae John attended a birthday party in honor of her sister, Rosalee Hill of Downey, Idaho at the home of their mother, Mrs. Leona Williams of Malad Monday. All of Mrs. Johns sisters were present. Guest of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Morris during the weekend were: family members, Mr. and Mrs. James Yarman and family, Clearfield; Mr. and Mrs. Parker Hupp and family, Brigham City, and Mr. and Mrs. Thayne Hupp and family, Hansel Valley. Mrs. Ivan Thompson of Clarkston and Mrs. Larry Jardine of Logan visited with Mrs. Ellis Allen Saturday. Hunting Trip Bud Knudsen spent the weekend at Marysville, on a hunting trip with his brother, Larrry Knudsen of Bountiful and others. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Yale of Wash. visited Spokane, Saturday with Mrs. Yales uncles and aunts, Mr. and Mrs. J.C. Gibbs and Mr. and Mrs. David P. Gibbs. Mrs. Phil R. Harris and children, Janet, Jennifer and Bradley of Salt Lake City visited Saturday with Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Harris. Mr. and Mrs. Murray Hoskins and son Brent, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Hoskins and daughters of Clearfield; Mr. and Mrs. Steve Hoskins and son of Kaysville and Mr. and Mrs. and Randy Stanger Jerry Stanger of Sunset spent the weekend here deer hunting. Two young fellows returned to Honeyville from the elk hunt with some luck, however. Rocky and Jeff Walker each got their elk while hunting near Blacksmith Fork canyon. The Walker families, Grace and LeWayne, and Peggy and Rodney, spent a weekend at the Uintas with no luck. The following weekend they journeyed to Blacksmith Fork canyon, where the boys were able to bring home the bacon. ..or in this case, the elk. Recent Guest Lina Lee White, Niles, Ohio, has been the recent guest Mrs. of Mrs. and Mrs. Homer Can-fieland family. The old Mrs. White flew to Utah to have temple work done for four children, and for seven other members of the family. She d, t visited with her Jason and grandchildren, Jeremy Canfield, sons of Terry and Pat Canfield. Terry is stationed at K.I. Sawyer Air Force base, and has great-grea- two years to go before ending his military service. He may go to the Phillipines at the first of the year, in which case Pat and their two sons .would also go with him. Bryce Brady, brother of Carma Spackman, has been serving a mission in Kentucky since May. He suffered a broken leg, but has been steadily recovering and continuing in his missionary labors. Mr. and Mrs. Ross Coombs returned home Sunday evening, and were welcomed by Harold and Leora Coombs, of Granger. Also in the group were Harold and Leoras children, Cheryl, Richard, and Robert, and two nieces, Lori and Cori Morrow. Carval and Nellie Justisen and son Vernon have been guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Madsen and family. The Justisens have been visiting from Milborne, Florida. Mr. Justisen is Rons nephew, a son of Coleen and Morris Justisen. Varsel Chlarson has returned home after surgery to correct the shoulder which he injured earlier this summer. He is recovering nicely. Katherine and Bill Hughes have welcomed a new addition into their home, a seven pound 4 ounce son, born Friday at Cooley Memorial hospital in Brigham. The boy is to be named Forrest Clayne Hughes. Gae Coombs and daughters Wendy and Julie have been visiting in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ross Coombs. They will return to Oklahoma to be with husband and father Bruce Tams. A farm tragic claimed the life of Albert Bingham, son accident old r of Mr. and four-yea- Mrs. Wallace Bingham Rupert, Idaho. The boy was riding of near with his on a tractor when he fell beneath the wheels and was crushed. Albert Bingham and wife Ruth, Honeyville, namesake of the little boy, traveled to the Idaho community to be with the parents at the funeral services, which were held Monday in Shoshone. The grandfathers of the boy are B.A Bingham, Honeyville, and Dr. C.R. Jones, Brigham City. In Deweyville, the Jack Rindlesbacher family has moved into their new home. Host Dinner Ruth and Jerry Lilchford were the hosts of a dinner in their home Sunday. Returning home for the event were Mr. and Mrs. Dan Lilchford of Ogden; Mr. and Mrs. Dan Meservy, San Diego; Mr. Gary Bessenger and Sammy, San Diego; Mr. and Mrs. Larry Lilchford, Tremonton; and Mr. and Mrs. Michael Lilchford, Deweyville. They were joined by the Lilchford teenagers, Vickie, David, and Jeff. It has been a lovely fall. The Mantua ward bishopric of the LDS church will be reorganized next Sunday in the fast and testimony meeting. The present Bishop Robert Wallentine, in closing last Sunday night, asked all ward members to please fast and pray this week in order that they might truly support those people who will be put into these positions. Condolences go to the family and friends of John Rasmussen, a former very active and who prominent Mantua-ite passed away recently. I moved here after he left so I did not know him personally but I do know his son, granddaughter and grandson of Mantua and if they represent the type of individual he was, I am sure we have lost a truly great man.
