Show 0 BOX ELDER JOURNAL, Brigham City, Utah Thursday, August 16, 1973 Senior citizens activities Dance beckons those over 40 All Over Forty dancers in south Box Elder county are reminded of the Anniversary Dance on Thursday, Aug. 16, at the Brigham City community center from 9 p.m. til 11 :30 p.m. The Hull orchestra presents the music for dancing and refreshments are served at intermission in the hall. Admission is 91 per person and anyone attending for the first time will be admitted free of charge. Badges and favors are given to those having an anniversary during August. All the ladies are wearing maxi-skirt- s for the occasion. Program Planned program is being planned for Aug. 27 at when 2 p.m. when free watermelon bust is scheduled. All members are urged to attend this day of the senior citizens Spike club meeting, as it is also election day for new directors for the group. Marvin Moon, well known performer in the area, will produce the original program to be presented. He has performed in community theatre, local plays and Melodrama. He is on the community theatre board of directors. Officers are selected from the nine directors, four which will be elected and five who are holdovers. Holdover directors are Rudy Rasmussen, first vice president and Glenn Valentine, Leon Swensen, May Jeppsen and Evelyn Yeager, directors. An entertaining Clifford Hansen, retiring president urges all members to attend so there will be a quorum for legal voting. The nominating committee members were Dan Olsen chairman, Erma Nelson, Sarah Hemsley, and Claude Barker. The free watermelon bust is held annually for all members of the senior activity center. All retired persons and seniors are invited to attend these luncheons and reservations must be made by Thursday at 1 p.m. The program after the luncheon will be presented by the A American Association of Retired Persons, local chapter, Mabel Yourt, president. Musical treats are in store for those attending. A meeting of the officers of the group will be held in the senior lounge at 11 a.m. The potluck bingo party, which is scheduled for Monday, Aug. 20, will begin at 4 p.m. with dinner. Everyone should bring a dish to share with others, a casserole, salad, cake, or vegetables, so there will be enough food for all those attending. Following the dinner, honors will be given for all August birthdays, including a special card.
