Show 4 9 18 BOX ELDER JOURNAL, Brigham City, Thursday, August 2, 1973 Utah Karens Kolumn Father, son return from Alaska trip Poulsen by Mrs. Max Nelson Bishop Paul Barnard and son Jay Dee recently returned from a three and one half week motorcycle trip to Alaska. June They left Perry and traveled to Olympia, Wash, where they visited with Mrs. Barnard's sister and her husband. From there they drove to Prince George via Hope, British Columbia and the beautiful Fraser River canyon. From Prince George they traveled past many beautiful lakes and glaciers to Prince Rupert where they boarded a large ferry for Haines, Alaska. During the voyage they stopped at five different cities including Juneau. From Haines they went back to British Columbia then over the Alaskan highway through Yukon territory and back into Alaska. They visited North Pole Alaska dnd saw Santa's workshop. From there they went to Fairbanks and on to McKinley park and to Anchorage where they visited with Pauls uncle and his wife. They traveled back to Haines where they boarded another large ferry to Prince Rupert. They then drove to Jasper National park and on to Bamf, visiting Lake Louise and the ice 29 on fields. Returning The Box Elder High school Class of 1938 will be holding their reunion at the Sherwood Hills at 7 p.m., according to chairman Verl Hansen Nelson of Bountiful. All class members and their spouses are invited to attend. Both well Thafcher Penrose Perry Pulse Montana and Idaho. Reunion planned through Other Relatives They visited with Mr. and Mrs. Mel Christensen who reside in Salmon. They camped out except for two night they spent in a motel to dry out. During the trip they saw many wild animals including, moose, timber wolf, red fox, white whales, bald eagles, elk and deer. They traveled 6,000 miles on their motorcycle and traveled 1,600 miles by ship. Primary Program The Perry ward Primary presented a summer program Primary, That Special Day last Wednesday morning for parents and friends. Each class gave a summary of their summer activities which included songs, poems, dances, and a puppet show. Teachers for the primary have been Mrs. Minnie Jenks, Mrs. Joan Kunzler, Mrs. Annette Kay, Mrs. Marsha Francis, Mrs. Carol Reeder, Mrs. Mary Higgs, Mrs. Carol Butler and Mrs. Teresa Rasmussen. Conducting the music were Mrs. Tess Johnson, Mrs. June Mrs. Rasmussen, Joycle and Mrs. Wilma Maddox. Mrs. Larene is Spendlove president with councilors Mrs. Velva Greenhalgh and Mrs. Daisy Davis and Mrs. Kathy Forsgren as Sec. The girls of MIA age are busy this week getting ready for camp. Girls from both Perry wards will leave Monday morning for four fun days at Camp Bartlett in Idaho. Even Im going so I wont have an article next week unless you have something to report and can get it to me by Saturday. I hope to hear from some of you so we can have an article. Congratulations go to the Perry ward girls softball team. They have won the opportunity to play in the region tournament starting tonight. All girls of Mia Maids and Laurels age who are eligible to play should plan on playing tonight. Contact Mrs. Janice Johnson, sports director, if you have any questions. And parents plan on supporting your girls at this game. The Perry ward junior boys softball team played last week and won two out of three of their games giving them a place in region play. They also will play sometime this week. Lets try to support them also. Mrs. Wanda Sebek arrived home Friday after spending 10 days in California at the home of her daughter, Mr. and Mrs. DeLoy (JoAnn) Neilsen, and daughters Jennifer Dawn and Michelle Lynn. It was really a thrill for Wanda to get acquainted with her new little twin granddaughters and helping JoAnn get adjusted to the new experience of two little daughters. I'm about to put a plea in now for a letter for myself. Mr. and Mrs. Cleon Anderson have had as their guests during the week their daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Weichman. Dennis and Nona are in the process of moving to Kentucky where Dennis will work towards his masters degree. The Weichmans are storing some things with the Andersons. Eight Bothwell boy scouts and their leader left Monday for the National Boy Scout jamboree at Farragut State park in Idaho. Scouts from here making the trip included Reed Stokes, Doug n Now at Home Mrs. Ellen Christensen is now at home after spending a few days in the Valley hospital in Tremonton, Mrs. Christensen had the unfortunate accident of falling from her bicycle and breaking her leg in three places. Renewing old acquaintances in Bothwell were Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Lind and Mrs. Leona Anderson. They live in Lo Lo, Mont, and were in the area attending a family reunion so decided to visit old friends here Sunday evening. and Mrs. Porter Mr, Christensen of Thatcher had as their Sunday Mrs. guests Christensen's brother, Brent Jeppsen and his family of Malad, Idaho. They were also visited by Mrs. Christensens mother, Mrs. Mae Jeppson of Brigham City. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Leak visited in Brigham City with Mr. and Mrs. Sid Peterson. They enjoyed socializing about the recent European vacation that Mr. and Mrs. Peterson have just returned from. They visited Norway, Sweden and Denmark where they have relatives and other places of interest. Mr. and Mrs. Thayne Stokes Eric their Sunday of Penrose had as dinner guests Mr. and Mrs. Robert Cagle and son, Jason of Ogden. Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Holt, former residence of Penrose visited friends Sunday. They are here on vacation from their home in League, Texas. They have been staying with Mr. and Mrs. Mervin Holt in Salt Lake City and with Mr. and Mrs. Charles Norr in Deweyville. Mr. and Mrs. Michael Anderson and family are now living in their new home. They invite anyone to visit them and take a tour. Mrs. Gordon Lasley is happy to report that her parents are both improving in health and that she is able now to be at home with her family.
