Alot of local anglers travel to Flaming Gorge only to fish on the Wyoming side of the reservoir. How come? I don't know. Maybe cause the fishing's better everyplace but Utah. Now I've never seen a Wyoming car on Blacksmith Fork. Ya know, are over In- all out spread Utah fishermen the termountain west. A man has been Ogden arraigned on felony charges stemming from the incident. Armando Coronado, Marion hotel, Ogden, was arraigned in Brigham City court Tuesday before Judge Robert W. Daines on a charge of rape. This would allow those of us who go to enjoy these shows a chance to hear them. Counsel Appointed Attorney Jeff Thorne was appointed as counsel for Corronado and a preliminary hearing was scheduled Aug. 15 at 10 a.m. Bail has been set at $10,000 and the defendent was placed in the custody of the Box Elder county sheriff. Olds fishermen out-of-sta- come to Utah to fish Flaming Gorge or Lake Powell but I've never seen too many on the smaller Utahns Brigham City audience at all three performances of the show last week. All the people who attended should have been permitted to hear this popular musical. This was impossible because of the people walking about, disinterested teenagers clapping out of turn, and the endless number of small children yelling and crying in the aisles. Now I realize that bringing the family along is traditional in Brigham but we may have to abandon some traditions when it imposes on others rights and enjoyment. The musical was a worthy product of many months of tender loving care and the cast and staff deserved a lot more consideration than they got. I would like to suggest to your readers that, in those cases where they knew the offenders, they clip this letter and mail it to them; anonymously if they prefer. Maybe these inconsiderate people will get the message and leave the small children home. More on fluoridation study Assistant Police Chief Tom Sneddon said Coronado gave himself up to police Tuesday on advice of counsel and an woman Sneddon said the gave an account of being held by force from about midnight Saturday until Sunday morning in the upstairs part of the El Dorado. The defendent was charged in a complaint signed by Sneddon. He was arrested at noon Tuesday. Tremonton council okays repair of park restrooms Editor: The local dentists, in their letter of May 14, asked the council to budget $3,000 to defray the cost of putting fluoridation study data on computer tape. I showed in my letter of the 5th that the amount of $750 for this year failed to get into the budget. The said request was worded in the letter, as follows: We propose that Brigham City budget $750 for the next four years for this purpose. We propose means: we wont take no for an answer. The letter also states: this will make possible an analysis of all the data so that people of our community and state can be informed about the effectiveness of fluoridation. Please note the inclusion: and state which clearly shows that the survey is to be primarily Repair of restrooms at North park highlighted Tuesdays meeting of the Tremonton City council as the municipal officials moved to get the park ready for the annual July 24 celebration. Two toilets and a seat will be replaced in two restrooms at the park. The facilities have recently been locked because of constant vandalism at the park. Repair and replacement is necessary several times yearly. Council members agreed they should be open to the public and promised that strict measures will be taken against anyone caught filling or breaking the toilets. Parents will be held responsible for damages caused by their children. It was decided the restrooms will be locked up each night. th Councilwoman Yolanda Allen also noted Scouts on their way to the National Jamboree in Idaho will be stopping at the park July 29 for lunch and expressed a desire to have the park in top shape for their arrival. that EVERYBODY READS THE NEWS 0 10-ye- ar publicity-oriente- Wliats In' letters to j Is your name KIMBER? Do 1 KIMBER has been used extensively as a surname for a number of centuries. It has been popular in England and admits of at least two derivations. According to some authorities on the origin of names, it is of occupational meaning and was applied, when surnames came into vogue, to those who combed wool or flax. It is said also that KIMBER signifies "descendant of Cyneburgh", the latter being an ancient English personal name. According to the Fifth Series of the Pennsylvania Archives, CALEB KIMBER, PREDY KIMBER and WILLIAM KIMBER served in the Pennsylvania tcoops at the time of the Revolutionary war. As additional evidence that members of the KIMBER family were among the early settlers of this country, it should be noted that the first census of the United States, taken in 1790, has listings of JOHN. PETER. SAMUEL and WILLIAM KIMBER who were residents of New York state and heads of families at that time. All of them lived in the Town of Minisink, Orange county. There are three references to persons by the name of KIMBER in the latest directory of Phi Beta Kappa, the honorary scholastic society. A refreshing sight (The following was received by Mayor Ole Zundel and is being reprinted in these columns because of its particular reference to the com- munity.) Dear Sir: On the Fourth of July, we were on a chartered touring bus from California and after spending the night in Salt Lake, headed for Idaho Falls. All the way from Salt Lake to your city we saw only three flags displayed and what a refreshing sight it was in going through your city to see all the flags in your business district as well as by many of your citizens in their homes. Just had to tell you how much it meant to all of us. Mrs. Helen Merrill, Santa Monica, Calif. Wife says thanks would like to thank the citizens who responded to Mr. Dain Maddoxs accusations of how the police handled the fire at the Wilson home. Too many people are willing and ready to find fault with law enforcement officers. They put them down for doing what they are paid to do, critize them for not doing more than the law will allow them to do, and too seldom ever thank them for what they do do, and the risks they take to keep Brigham City a safe and beautiful place in which to live. It is comforting to know that there are still a few good people who respect and appreciate the laws that govern this great country, and those who do their best to enforce them. I Thanks again. It is clear from this that publicity rather than scientific research will be the keynote in this ten-yesurvey. As far as I know, the Brigham City council did not enter in 1966 into any agreement, contract, or the local dentists which commitment would obligate the citv to pay now for the cost of computer rental or later on for the cost of printing the nice brochure in 1976, if and when the local dentists at that point in time should wish once again to propose that the city pick up the tab to the tune of $2,000 or so for the printing of such a windowdressing pamphlet. The dentists should rather address their request for the $3,000 for the rental of computer time to the Utah State Department of Health (Dental Health division) in Salt Lake City; and since they have a computer, I see no reason at all why they would have to charge for the computer time in the first place, seeing that this whole program is undertaken chiefly at their behest and under their direction. As I see it, the primary purpose of this ten-yesurvey is this: a) to prepare that glamorous borchure in 1976 assigning all credit to fluoridation; b) to use that showcase brochure as the basis for introducing again in the Utah legislature a bill making fluoridation of all water supplies in the state mandatory, notwithstanding the fact that a lot of rural water systems right now are likened to fish ponds, lacking even that basic prophylactic requisite of chlorination. If there should be passed in the Utah legislature h such an fluoridation bill, it would be put into the form of a statute, which, in turn, would be tested as to its constitutionality (loth amendment). P.S. : And how about making a medical survey to determine the damaging effects of fluoridation in cases of partial or total renal (kidney) failure affecting both the young and the ar vis-a-v- is ar I would like to apologize to the production crew of Hello Dolly discourtesy and indifference aging? sincerely yours, Adolph Kaltwasser, Brigham City JOURNAL 0 ROXY Two Now action pictures - Today through Thursday Suspense and oxcitomont on Hickey and Boggs" Stars roof? ii The Bill Cosby, Robort Culp Magnificent Seven Rides Again Wostorn Entortainmont patio on the roof?
