Institute accepts BE man Clyde Morris, and English teacher at Bear River High school, has been accepted by the Indiana University Summer Institute on Teaching the Bible in Secondary English as one of the 70, 1973 participants to congregate in Bloomington, Ind., this summer during the month of July. Funded by Lilly Endowment, Inc., the Institute was first coordinated in the summer of J970 by the joint efforts of James S. Ackerman of the Religious Studies department of IU who directs the Institute, and Associate Director Thayer S. Warshaw of the English department of Newton High school in Newton, Mass. workshop ; The four-wee- k concentrates on exposing the teachers to, as Warshaw phrases it, the .Bible as literature, and and literature, in literature, while providing the participants with graduate credit through the IU Dept, of Religious Studies. Enjoying an Easter picnic in the nearby foothills Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Norris Hess and family. They were accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Drex Hess and family of Tremonton. Saturday visitors at the home of Mr, and Mrs. W. J. Rudd were Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Harris and Mr. and Mrs. Michael Harris of Ogden. Dinner Guests Dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Whiting on Easter were Mr. and Mrs. Thayne Jones and family of Fielding. Elaine Lamb and Jan Waid, students at Weber State college spent the Easter weekend visiting Elaines parents Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Lamb. Visiting Mr. and Mrs. Robert Keller in Midvale Friday were Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Stokes. The two ladies are sisters. Mrs. DeVere Hess and family visited her sister Miss Clara Archibald in Logan Friday. Clara accompanied them home to spend the weekend. Sunday they enjoyed a picnic in the foothills. Julie Ann Hess received a $25 cash prize in a drawing during the opening of Calyleys store in Tremonton. Visiting Mr. and Mrs. Udell Godfrey and in family Clarkston Thursday were Mr. and Mrs. Newel Nish. Mrs. Donald Nish and family left Saturday for their home in Minneapolis after visiting at the Newel Nish home. Donald remained to finish some business arrangments. Mr. men enlist BE Riverside Register Two Box Elder county men have enlisted in the U.S. Navy's Cache (Delay) program. Michael Martin Dunn, son of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Martin Dunn, 710 North Main, Mantua, was sworn into the Cache program on April 17, and will leave for recruit training at RTC San Diego, on May 22. He is a graduate of Box Elder High school. James Patrick Miller, son of Mr. and Mrs. Francis X. Miller, 676 North First West, Brigham City, enlisted into the Cache program on April 17, and will leave for recruit training on June 22 with Gus Andrews and John Plowman. He will graduate from Box Elder High school in May. If there are any other young men and women interested in enlisting in the US Navy, they should contact Petty Officer First Richard J. Baker at the NJROTC unit at the high school or the post office building at 24th and Grant in Ogden.
