If the land sells for $250 an acre, it makes a good tax base for us but it's fraudulent for the people, he declared. fraudulent The term relates to a contention that buyers are not given an accurate description of the land which is priced well over its established value. Commissioner Holmgren said the new bonafide ordinance would limit agriculture parcels to 160 acres. In other business, the commissioners authorized creation of a county building inspector and license director post. It will be established as a division of the county surveyors department. The job will pay between $650 and $750 monthly, depending upon experience and is contingent on adoption of the countys general plan. Elder county officials have set May at 2:30 p.m. for public hearing on a proposed subdivision ordinance which they believe will curb fraudulent" land sales in the western county area. Copies of the measure are now on file in the county clerks office for inspection. Calling the hearing followed a recommendation of the county planning commission. If adopted the ordinance will replace a temporary subdivision measure which Commissioner John Holmgren said is not adequate to do the job. He pointed out that one developer is now proposing to subdivide in the arid west county region in parcels of 10 acres (acreage necessary under the temporary ordinance to qualify as agricultural land). He is pricing it at $250 an acre, the commissioner said. Box 1 $1,063,227.
