Thursday, April 5, 1973 Grouse Creek Reports Local bishop returns home by Marge Thompson Its good to be able to welcome Bishop Merlin Tanner back home again. He has been in the Burley hospital for a week suffering with pneumonia. His wife, Kenna, stayed with him during the days and spent the nights in Malta with her son, Blaine and Julie Tanner. They were glad that Mrs. Kunzler was here from Park Valley and took good care of Jay, Brent and Terrie. Jay and Brent had to take over the cattle feeding and farm chores. Everyone is relieved that Bishop is back feeling better again. Lousy Again Our weather is lousy again. We had a big snow storm this week, lots of wind and now its . terribly cold. Seems that spring just cant seem to come. This was an eventful one for Eldon Kimber. On Tuesday evening he was in Burley to in the donkey basketball game. The Malta and Burley Rodeo clubs played a group called, The Hippies." Eldon said they lost their game but it was a lot of fun. It would be quite a challenge to play a basketball game astride a donkey. Eldon was also best man at a wedding on Thursday evening. The event took place at the Ramada Inn in Burley. The new bride and groom were Gay Arguella from Declo and Jody Willett of Malta. Keith Kimber halped Jay Tanner take a cow to the Burley vet on Sunday. Because of the big snow storm they were snowed out and they had to go back and come home around the mountain. Oren and Opal Kimber were in Bountiful Tuesday. While Opal visited Karla Beecher and family there Oren had his truck repaired in Brigham. He also visited there with Judy Williams and Terry. Then that evening they were invited to a lovely chicken dinner at the participate home of Deon and LeGrande and children in Bountiful. Karla and Reed Beecher and children were also guests. Kimber At Summer Home Richard and Joan Kimber and family spent this wintery weekend at their summer home here. Joan said they had quite an experience with the power failure in Brigham, but their own family had quite enjoyed the time together. Lee Kimber and sons, Gary, Steven and Scott, of Clearfield were weekend guests of Judy and Keith Kimber. They also visited the Norman Kimber family. Delroy and Linda Kimber and children also spent the weekend here from Brigham. He comes to check up on his cattle herd and do the necessary work to care for them enOren and Opal Kimber joyed Saturday in Burley shopping and having fun. Linda Kypers and Jess Pearson of Montello were Back Home Fred Thompson is back home again after spending a few weeks in Gunnison with Acel and Amy Thompson and a week in Yost with the Arland and Darwin Thompsons Thompsons. On Thursday evening Hughie Thompson took Dell and Ella Tanner, Mrs. Kunzler, Jay, Brent and Terrie Tanner to Burley to visit Bishop Merlin. They also enjoyed a lovely dinner together at Prices. Vera Tanner and Jackie Kimber accompanied the Thompsons to Burley on Wednesday. We drove down while Hughie attended an REA meeting in Malta. We enjoyed visiting with Verna Mae Christensen and baby and a short visit with Audrey Tuter, along with Bishop Merlin at the hospital. Reese and Irma Warburton, Carolyn, Jeff and Chris were in Tremonton last week to attend the wedding of Irmas cousin. Le Ann Iverson married Paul Snyder of Salt Lake in a lovely wedding ceremony held in Tremonton. Attend Funeral Irma and Reese and daughter, Rosemary, were back in Tremonton to a funeral service. The funeral was for the baby son of Jane (Bourne) and Charles Benson and was held in East Garland. Our sympathy is sent to Jane On Saturday Aging topic of session LaRene Napoli, projects director for the Senior Citizen center in Tremonton, Jessie Eller, member of the Box Elder council on Aging and Herbert Harrison, president of the Senior Citizen club in Logan attended a two-da- y planning session at the "Homestead" in Midway during the week. They were chosen among a team of 41 members to set up a workshop for the aging in each college throughout the state of Utah. and her family in their loss. The couple also have a little girl. Vivian Thomas and Jodi were in Clearfield with her parents last weekend. Dwayne Thomas and Jeff stayed in Tremonton with Mary and Bill Thomas. Harley and Phyllis Sanders come home from Salt Lake each weekend to be with Garrol and the girls here. Attorney David Bean of Kaysville came out Friday afternoon to attend a meeting of the Grouse Creek Livestock association. Lyman and Eula Kimber were in Oakley on assignment Sunday and spent some time in Burley visiting with Charley Ballingham. Lyman says he is doing very well.
