A short business meeting preceeded the program conducted by club president Mrs. George Napoli. Mrs. Carl Ashby announced that plans are going forward for the arts musical to be held March 1 at the First Ward building. It is invitational and tickets may be purchased from any member of the Civic league or at the Senior center. Mrs. Don Borup told of a Flea Market to be conducted the latter part of April with funds from donations going toward the new Northern Box Elder .County Community hospital. Mrs. Keith Fillmore showed clothing from Keiths in Tremonton and from Deenie's in Logan called Shoppe . Forecast piaterials, to Fashion. New new colors which .will be popular and many at- tractive fashions were modeled by Mrs. Kathy Longstroth from Ceenie's Shoppe in Logan. Light refreshments were served. Foundation Meeting Mrs. Grant Callister attended a medical and scientific committee meeting of the Utah Arthritis Foundation at the University hospital in Salt Lake City Tuesday. " Fuuture plans for the arthritis Center at the hospital were discussed by Dr. John Ward, rheumatologist; Dr. Robert Carson, orthopedic surgeon and Marlin Shields, physical therapist. ' The ; Social Development club Of Fielding met with Mrs. Edith Welling as hostess Friday afternoon. Special guests were Mrs. Alice Coombs, Mrs. Elma Petersen, Mrs. Opal Groth. Each of the twelve members present gave an interesting current event. A delicious light luncheon was served. Mrs. Roselin Draper of Garland has returned after spending a week visiting her ODean Jensen and family in Newhall, Calif. She also visited her brother and sister-in-laMr. and Mrs. Jed. .Allred in Tiajuana and her brother-in-laand sister Mr. and Mrs. Harry Holman in Sylmar. . Spending Monday visiting Mr. and Mrs. Norman Petersen and family in Bountiful were Mrs. Elma Petersen, Mrs. Leland Burton and daughter Nelda of Fielding. Overnight guests of Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Harris in Portage Thursday and Friday were Mr. and Mrs. Tasman Gibbs of Moreland, Idaho and Mrs. Cecil McCrary of Idaho Falls. Friday the entire group visited David Gibbs in the Bonneville Convalescent Home in Salt Lake City and Mr. and Mrs. Hyrum Hoskins in Ogden. They were accomapnied by J.C. Gibbs of Portage. Visiting Mr. and Mrs. Ace Godfrey in Fielding Friday were Mr. and Mrs. Scott Hubbard and son Shane of Roy. They also visited Mr. and Mrs. Elmo Munson and family. Saturday visitors at the Godfrey and Munson homes were Mr. and Mrs. Brigham Godfrey of Clarkston and Ralph Godfrey of Logan. Elmo Mr. and Mrs. Christensen entertained at a dinner party at their home in Tremonton Saturday evening. Guests included Mr. and Mrs. Rosco Weston of River Heights, Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Bair, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Dunn, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Brough, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bennett of Tremonton. Games and a social were enjoyed. Spending Friday in Salt Lake City was Mrs. Lynn Petersen of Plymouth. She visited her and daughter Mr. and Mrs. Robert Jensen and family. Vacationing in San Diego and other points of interest are Mr. and Mrs. Clive Gam of Fielding. Weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Hall in Tremonton were Mr. and Mrs. Lane Hall and children Tim and Kami of Logan, Mrs. Lenore Hancock and children Marci, Jeff and Brian of Salt Lake City. Mrs. Ferrell Wood of Garland spent Monday visiting her mother Mrs. Ida Boss in Salt Lake City. She also visited her daughter Mrs. Boyd Terry and family in Boutiful. Spending the weekend in Bedford, Wyo. were Mr. and Mrs. Bevan Hales and family of Tremonton. They visited Mrs. Hales parents Mr. and Mrs. Oral Merritt. Overnight guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Smith and family in Fielding Friday were Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Kimber of Ogden. Mr. and Mrs. Quentin Allen of Tremonton attended a wedding and reception in compliment to Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Oyler held in the Community Reception center in Kaysville Saturday. Mrs. W.J. Gam of Fielding was honored at a dinner party held at Maddox Friday afternoon. The occasion was her birthday anniversary. Others attending were her husband and daughters Mrs. Rae Peterson of Fielding, Mrs. Dayle Stimpson of Tremonton; Mrs. Carol Hess of Garland. Mrs. Gam also received phone calls from her daughters Mrs. Beth Burnett in Moses Lake, Mrs. Jean Nye in Issaquah, and her son Jack Garn in Bellevue, Wash, wishing her a happy birthday. New Arrival Sid and Leslie Stokes Gibbs of Tremonton proudly announce the arrival of their first child, a girl, born Feb. 16. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. William Gibbs of Portage, Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Stokes of Tremonton. Great grandparents are Mrs. Hazel Gibbs of of Hall C.A. Portage; Hopkinsville, Ky; Wallace Christensen of Tremonton. Returning to her home in Riverside after spending several days with her and daughter Mr. and Mrs. Walter Harris and family in Ogden was Mrs. Mina Ward of Riverside. Rickey Gene and Marlene Simmons Allen of Collinston announce the arrival of their first child, a girl, born Feb. 12. Grandparants are Mr. and Mrs. son-in-la- Ralph Simmons Dam, Mr. Allen of of Beaver and Mrs. Delbert Garland. Great grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Allen of Tremonton, Albert Meldrum of Logan, Mrs. Wallace Simmons of Beaver Dam. Spending a few days with Mr. and Mrs. Phil Harris and family in Salt Lake City last week were Mr. and Mrs. Virgil C. Harris of Portage. Wednesday evening they attended the basketball game between the New York Nets and the Utah Stars at the Salt Palace. Spending the weekend in St. George were Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Allred and daughter Tamra of Garland. They were accompanied by Mrs. Raymond Butler and daughter Christy of Bountiful. They joined the Allreds son-in-la- w and daughter Mr. and Mrs. Enoch Hughes and (Claralynn) daughter Laurie of Sylmar, Calif. Laurie accompanied her grandparents home and plans to enroll at USU. Happy over the arrival of a baby boy born Feb. 10 are Theodore K. and Laura Wilson Elmer of Elwood. They have six sons and one daughter at home. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. William E. Dodge of Salt Lake City and Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd E. Chase of Kanesville. and Visiting their daughter Mr. and Mrs. Dale Hansen and family in Brigham City Monday were Mr. and Mrs. E.C. Mason of Fielding. Mrs. O.C. Davis of Garland has returned home after undergoing surgery on both of her eyes in the Logan LDS hospital. Mrs. James E. Hess of Fielding enetertained at party Wednesday in compliment to her little son, San who was 6 years old. Ten little friends enjoyed games with prizes, followed by a tasty luncheon. San received nice gifts. Those present enjoyed the lesson given by Mrs. Susan Anderson. Mr. and Mrs. LaMoyne Roberts and Mr. and Mrs. Blair .Summers were in charge of f serving the chamber of comm-Amerc- e banquet. They wish to 'express their thanks to all 'those who donated or helped. The scout banquet for the scouts and their leaders of the Thatcher Penrose Ward will be held on Thursday (tonight) evening. Kirk Summers, I.R. announced that those attending will enjoy a good meal and program and will also be able to see many of the scouts advanced in rank. Mrs. Gorden (Joe) Lasley now has her art studio open in Thatcher. Anyone seeing the Bear River High school production of Carousel will remember that Joe did the scenery. Shes also had many of her paintings on exhibit at the Fair. Seriously 111 Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy Peterson visited at the Dunn Nursing home in Ogden with Mrs. Petersons mother, Mrs. Roy Thompson. They report that Mrs. Thompson is seriously ill. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Sorensen of Bothwell enjoyed dinner at Sherwood Hills in Sardine canyon on Friday evening. The occasion being the birthday of Mrs. Sorensen. Mr. and Mrs. Max Hull were in Logan during the week on business. and Mr. Mrs. Fred Christensen arrived home on Tuesday from a two week vacation in California. They report a most enjoyable trip. Trudy Hunsaker of Tremonton was an overnight guest of Laura Smith in Fielding Saturday. Visiting Mr. and Mrs. Russell Rogers in Garland Saturday were Mr. and Mrs. Jay Dee Thompson of Bear River City. Spending Saturday visiting Mr. and Mrs. Herman Thompson in Clarkston were Mrs. Nina Lamb of Plymouth, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Owen and daughters Geniece and Nancy of Fielding.
