I am talking about the school lunch program. Many are not aware that only 29 percent of our students are taking advantage of the 35 rather we as cent meal parents are allowing our sons or daughters to go without dinner or many are spending double or triple that amount in a nonschool faciltiy to get approximately the same thing. Not Paying Way We here at the high school are not paying our way simply due to the low percentage of students being served and this to jeopardizes our program the extreme measure of perhaps taking it away from us. This, I feel, would be a terrible loss and one that we certainly shouldn't allow to happen. Each meal fulfills all of the basic nutrition requirements that a person needs plus being served in a most wholesome manner," he stated. If we don't utilize the lunch program in the future, I predict we will lose it especially in its present form. This would be a step in the wrong direction in building a better Bear River valley high school. Any adult who would like to see first hand and participate in our lunch program is certainly welcome. Lunch is served from 12:30 to 1 p.m. for a 55 cent charge. The workshop has been based around material developed by Lloyd Clement, USU extension economist. To the 11 couples participating Lindsay said, You have a lot of expenses ahead. It is highly important now that you set goals, figure your net worth, determine your spendable income, analyze spending patterns, determine the fixed obligations and strive to have some kind of emergency fund in order to be prepared for some unforseen urgent expenditure. Save for Purpose He encouraged saving for a purpose. He noted that money saved in advance to buy furniture or an appliance gives double benefits. It earns interest and it saves the cost of interest. He acknowledged that all will likely have to borrow money for some purpose at some time. Utah 723-56- 78 |
