Roy Jensen and son Von from Chicago spent several days last week with his parents Mr. and Mrs. Leon Jensen. While here they made a trip to Rexburg, Idaho to make arrangements for Von to attend Ricks college next year. They left for home on Saturday. Nola Nessler and son Brian were Ogden visitors on Friday. Jennie Wood, Lila Myers, Helen Mary Hyden and Mecham of Howell were visiting Senneth Hawkes on Friday. Peggy and Ken Porritt, Joyce and Jerry Williams, Karen and Leland Anderson and Dixie and Dee Ramsdell went out of town Saturday night for supper. After ther meal Ken was presented with a cake honoring him on his birthday. The remainder of the evening was spent visiting at the Porritt home. Attends Luncheon Mrs. Dollie Iverson attended a luncheon in Ogden Friday at the home of Helen T. Hansen at which Lois Thompson was also a guest. Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Bywater and family and Mr. and Mrs. Darwin Bywater and family of Brigham were dinner guests Sunday at the home of their parents Mr. and Mrs. Milton Bywater. Mr. and Mrs. Keith Johnsen attended the Box Elder High school French club A seven-cours- French e dinner was served to those attending. Mary Christensen of Garland and Bessie Christensen attended an advisor meeting for the Young Home Makers in Provo on Monday. Mrs. Alice Petersen is home after spending five days last week in the Cooley Memorial hospital receiving medication. Mrs. James Seamons and daughter Sharon of North Logan visited Mr. and Mrs. Edward Clayson on Saturday. Attends Convention Last Friday, David Weidman flew to Albuquerque, N.M. where he attended a Key club convention on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Byron Weidman met him at the Salt Lake airport on his return home Sunday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Reed Munns were in Centerville Monday evening to visit Ruths mother Mrs. Christena Stacey. Vernon Johnsen is convalescing at home after his automobile accident last Friday. Mrs. Etta Christensen spent several days last week in Salt Lake City with her daughter Pat and family. Picked Sweetheart Candace Holmgren daughter of Bishop and Mrs. John Holmgren has been chosen Key club sweetheart at Box Elder High school. The many friends of Mrs Ida Christensen will be happy to know she has improved sufficiently to return to her own home. Last Saturday Hawkes family was in Salt Lake City on business and visiting old friends. Mrs. Ruby Creech and granddaughter from Cornish spent Wednesday with Mr. and Mrs. Edward Clayson. Scoutmaster, Roger Furse; assistant scoutmaster, Ray Frost; Gerold Williams and Rulon Duncan accompanied our local boy scouts to the District camp-a-re- e Scout Friday evening which was held on the mountains south of Mantua. The boys did their own cooking to pass their cooking merit badge tests. Dee Ramsdell took the Blazer patrol up to join them Saturday morning. The boys participated in different skills on Saturday. The Blazer patrol led by Donald Braegger won two first place the Boyd weapons, map reading, combat tactics, Privates Robert W. Nelson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Nelson, Route 2, Brigham City; Michael D. Jeppsen, 21, son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard N. Jeppsen, Mantua; Hal Nelson, 22, son of Mr. and Mrs. Grant H. Prizes were won by Winnie Jensen and Clytie Anderson. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Williams visited Mrs. Maxine Korth and new baby at the McKay hospital on Sunday. Lurleen, Rita and Clytie Anderson and Andrea Huggins attended the demonstration at the Civic center in Brigham on Friday. Chairmen Give U.S. Bond Totals South Box Elder county volunteer U.S. Savings Bonds chairman T. Frank Coppin announced this week that March sales of Series E and H Savings Bonds amounted to $100,178, bringing the three-mont- h figure to $271,974. Mr. Wendell E. Gile, Utah State chairman and Mr. David L. Bigler, 1972 TSIA chairman jointly announced that state sales for March totaled $2,460,401. Total state sales, are $7,428,504, or 27 percent of the Utah goal of Speech Program By Doris Flint The MIA Speech festival was presented to parents and friends Monday evening. The speeches were arranged around a menu theme. It started with an appetizer (tall tell), soup (storytelling), bread (scripture reading), salad main course (value) served by Jimmy Mitchell, Toni Flint, Sandra Marx, Ruth Silvester, Lillie Marx and Sherry Flint. Wanda Larsen was master MIA chef. President Merlin Larsen was the after dinner speaker. Doughnuts and punch the were served after congradulations were given. Merlin and Wanda Larsen received word from Madison, Wise, their son and his wife, Steven and Mary, are the proud parents of a baby boy. Gets Appointment Sunday evening was quite an exciting evening for the Larsen family. They also received a call from Idaho Falls, Idaho, their daughter, Mrs. Dean (Judy) Shepard had been appointed as a stake missionary. It is great to see lights in the Duane Wells home again.
