In scheduling concerts, we know that everyone has different preferences and it is next to impossible to get all of the right concerts for everyone all of the time, but if a good look is taken at the concerts that have been here over the years, I am sure it will be agreed that there has been a good variation of top talent. If this happened it was purely by accident as the article was dealing in wide generalities. This writer was drawing off of experiences gained from living in many different neighborhoods, plus experiences of friends and fellow employees. The column was not aimed at any party in particular and yours truly is sorry for not making that clear. YE OLE SAGE SEZ: Thefe oughta be a law during primaries forcing candidates to admit they lost when the other guy won. It wouldn't be so confusing. In Box Elder county, due to changes In recent years in the birth rate and in life expectancy, the median age of the local population is now 22.7 years. It means tha for every resident who is younger than that there is one who is older. The current median is somewhat higher than it was in 1960, when the previous census was taken. At that time it was 21.7 years. By way of comparison, the median age of the Amercian population as a whole is now 27.9 It is 23.1 throughout the state of Utah. Moving Downward For some years, in the local area and in most other parts of the country, the median age level had been moving downward. It was due principally to the high birth rates experienced after World War II. The sharp increase in the number of young people had the effect of bringing the median age down. More recently, however, the birth rate has been moving in the opposite direction, dropping steadily. It is attributed to the fact that women in their 20s are having fewer children than did women of similar age in earlier times. According to the 1970 National Fertility study this trend is likely to continue for some time. Its findings indicate that women in their early 20s expect to have an average of 2.53 children. However, be assurred that anyone who knows you gentlemen personally would not take seriously such loosely uttered references as: muddleheaded antics and utter confusion in reference to your handling of city affairs. (Obfuscated wasnt in my dictionary but I didnt like the way it sounded either) And dont worry too much about that dramatic proof that you gentlemen changed your mind. Occasionally, in city government as well as in personal or national considerations, there may be a need for reconsideration or modification. Also, most of us never use that ideal and very popular and crowded parking area right in the heart of the city. And, Im sure the kids of the town would like me to thank you for having a few parks around town. But, playing softball until 11 p.m. because all the parks are used, should merit another softball diamond; and a little leaguer told me its getting mighty hard to find a place to LEWIS LLEWELLYN teen-ager- Lyrics Provocative The girls who were interviewed mentioned as particularly exciting the Rolling Stones, with such hits as Lets spend the night together. How much relationship is there between this information and the fact that illegitimacy is increasing among very young girls? Probably nobody has the complete answer at this time. Rock music records, the study showed, could be especially provocative when young girls, 12 and 13 years old, listened with their boyfriends.
