They saw the United Nation buildings and were thrilled to see the flags of all the countries extending all the way across the front of the building. Enormous Madison Square Garden, rows of huge tall buildings, the tallest of all the Empire State building, which is just another bulging until your on the 102 floor looking down. It wont be the tallest for long, because twin buildings are well on their way to completion, which will be taller. These two buildings will house 50,000 office workers, and face the New York Harbor and the Statue of Liberty. They stand out like a beacon light. The Chlarsons traveled from New York to Philadelphia by train. They saw the large statue of Benjamin Franklin, who planned the city, which stands on top of the city hall. They were thrilled to see Independence Square, where the Declaration of Independence was first signed and the huge Liberty Bell is housed, which has become a symbol of human liberty. They also visited the Betsy Ross house, Museum of Art, and many places that concerned the life of George Washington, and many other great men in national history. They thought it very fitting for a national school board convention to be held there. After seeing row upon row of apartments many stories up front yard whose occupants were the side walk, they were most greatful for their home, family, and the wide open spaces. Mr. and Mrs. Claude Tolman enjoyed having some of their family visit them Thursday and for Friday night picnicking and fun in the hills. They were Mr. and Mrs. Sterling Tolman and family, Mrs. Alice Lambourne and family. Mrs. Kathy Tolman and daughter Kimberly, visited with her parents in Corinne on Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Crist and children were in town visiting with Conrad Johnson. Miss Denice Johnson was also home visiting with her father. Teen Competes Congratulations luck and good to Miss Cleo Tolman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. D. Frank Tolman, who is competing in the Miss Teenage America contest. She is being sponsored by four Brigham City business firms. Mr. and Mrs. Leon Gardner were glad to have Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Gardner of Blackfoot, Idaho spend some time visiting with them this past weekend. Their children Susan, Pam, Brad, and Cindy were also with them. Another son Steven who also lives in Las Vegas, brought the children and stayed for a nice visit. Visiting at the Boyd Gardner home on Sunday were a daughter Shauna Robbins and son Shane of Tremonton. Visitors at the Leland Hunsaker home have been Mr. and Mrs. William O. Moore of San Clemente, Calif.; Mrs. William S. Sorrell of Bountiful; Mrs. Michael Sorrell and baby of Erie, Pa. Mr. and Mrs. Leland Hunsaker spent Saturday and Sunday in Boise, Idaho visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Newel Welch and family and Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Snow and family. Visit California and Neomi Hunsaker spent last weekend in Southern Bill California. They took their daughter Myrna and her two children home after they had been here visiting for about five days. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Harper were happy to have their daughter Jolene and children Cam and Karen of Oakley, Idaho, spend a couple of days with them. Frank Olsen had some of his family visiting with him over thp wppkpnd Mr. and Mrs. William White have also enjoyed having some of their family visit with them this past weekend. Mrs. Ann Dickey spent the weekend visiting her daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. David Kelly of Clearfield. Mrs. Mary and family spent Monday visiting relatives and friends in Preston, Idaho.
