Show 2 Whopper Utah BOX ELDER JOURNAL, Brigham City, ST UPI Jimmy Thursday, August 29, 1968 . (Continued from page One) veiopmental stages observed in normal children. In stu. dies of brain injured children, it has been observed that a return to the early physi. cal developmental stages has resulted in making the brain for assume responsibility functions that were passed up in the childs development. Jimmys diagnosis at the clinic was reassuring to the Cragins, for they know he has normal learning potential. But he will need a regimen of dally exercises that will use every waking hour of his life for the coming year to develop skills in speech, vi. sion, sensory, mobility and coordination. Such exercises have been plotted to be as much fun as possible for the little boy and include blowing bubbles, licking honey from around his mouth, digging in wet sand to retrelve and Identify small objects, creeping through a crawl.box, and actual moving of his limbs to simulate nor-mcrawling motions. DISCUSS JOB DATE Glen A. Weight of the Intermountain school placement office, and student Leo Mustache discuss the schools policy of allowing students to take jobs in the local area. Program will begin Saturday. (See story Page One.) THESE EXERCISES will lm. pose on the central nervous system a pattern of activity which has as its goal the re. production of normal activi. ties which would have been a normal product of his brain had it not been injured. It is this physical work-lnof limbs that will require additional helping hands for Jimmys development, for It takes five people to admlnls. ter the three.minute pattern of exercises twice daily. With herself included as trainer and one of the team members, Mrs. Cragin states that she will need four re. liable volunteers for each ses. sion. She suggested that teams could be formed for a 9:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. ses. sion dally at her home. 3 V k kx f 'TL f -- vi) p4 . wv MERCHANTS OUTING Pictured are some of the hundreds of persons who turned out for the 1968 Merchants Outing at Rees Pioneer park Tuesday evening.
