Last week the News admitted that Box Elder County had the finest exhibit of horticulture and agriculture products at the State Fair and the adjudicating committee backed up that admission by declaring It was true. That makes seven wins out of eight trys and the one loss was on such a close margin, with the margin In favor of Box Elder County even, that the Fair board officials ordered a special cup and gave it as a special prize for the splendid exhibit. On Monday evening, Thursday, Oct 7, 1915 Honeyville Harper, the two year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Leland Hunsaker, fell backward into a large pan of scalding water and was severely burned. Dr. 'Pearse was called in and reports the little fellow In a very serious condition. October 14, 1915 - Marvelous are the changes of time and wonderful is the development of Promontory. To those who are a little acquainted with the history of the apparent desert stretch of county west of Corinne, the accomplishments out on the Promontory to date are really miraculous, for when the railroad was completed on the tenth of May, 1869, that entire section of country was regarded as fit only for the habitation g of coyotes and jack rabbits. True the grass grew and was prosecuted to some extent but the husbandman never permitted the suggestions to enter his mind that the time would come when happy homes and extensive farms would grace the hills while the railroad would haul hundreds of thousands of bushels of grain from the farms ta the great market centers of the world. And that is just what is taking place today and before another five years have passed into history, Promontory will come to be regarded as the Granary of Northern Utah. October 14, 1915 - Last Wednesday in the Salt Lake Temple, Miss Esther Reeve and Mr. Charles T. Brown of this city were united In marriage. The bride Is the charming daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A1 Reeve and is well known in this community by reason of her association with the O.R.T. Railroad Co. Brown, and he anticipated his prosposed marriage in a wise manner by preparing a home to go into. A handsome modern cottage adorns the corner of Third North and Second East streets, where Mr. and Mrs. Brown are at home to their many friends.
