Johnsen of Bear River City, president of the Box Elder Farm Produce this week reported that farm labor user associations in Utah, Idaho, and Oregon have gone on record opposing known as the Farm Labor Recruitment Act of 1961 and have so advised congressional delegations agieed that passage of any such measure would create a comclosed shop in agriculpulsory ture and delegate dictatorial power to the Secretary of Labor, Johnsen Mrs. Mary Eowden Mecham, age 72, of 478 North Third West, died Wednesday after an iilnes.- Mrs. Mecham was born Feb. 3, 1890 in Salt Lake City, a daughter of James B. and Rhoda Ann Baker Bowden. She was reared and educated in Salt Lake City and Tooele. She was a graduate nurse prior to her marriage. On Oct. 5, 1910, she was married to E. James Mecham in the Salt Lake LDS temple. They made their home at Taver, Alberta, Canada, where she worked as a midwife in that area for many years. They came to Brigham City in 1945. An active member of the LDS church, she had served as president of the Relief society and as a teacher in the Sunday school while living in Canada. Survivors include her husband, three daughters Brigham City; and one son, Mrs. George (Julia) Nelson, Mountain View, Alberta, Mrs. Mac Canada; (Ardath) Alberta, Cardston, Malmberg, Eldon James Mecham, Canada; Mrs. Chester Idaho; Kellogg, Salt Lake (Peggy) Lawrence, and one City; 13 grandchildren also one brother, Clarence Bowden, Salt Lake City. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 1 p. m. in the Brigham City Seventh LDS ward chapel with Bishop Dean Compton officiating. Friends may call at the Harold B.
