Anderson, former student of Bear River High school, has been named new manager of the Timeway installment loan department of First Security Bank in Tremonton, it was announced this week by Jack Shumway, vice president and manager. The appointment is effective Jan. 1. Mr. Anderson has been promoted to the new assignment from his position as assistant manager of First Securitys loan deTimeway installment partment in Logan. Their efforts were rewarded when a flight of approximately 100 was spotted on the river bank east of town. The Leonards carefully sneaked up on the honking birds and when the guns had homed and the geese had flown, there were two lying on the ground evidence of a successful hunt to any waterfowler. An added note to hunters is that just one week is left in Utahs waterfowl season which closes Jan. 7. First Lieutenant Robert W. Smith, home from three year service with the U. S. Air Force, has now registered at Utah State University. Lt. Smith received officer's training and basic training in Texas, and schooling at University of Texas before being permanently located at Parks Air Force Base, Calif. He served as an LDS chaplain at Parks. Just last fall, on accumulated leave time, he traveled by air, train and bus to many far off places, including Hawaii, Japan, Philippines, Vietnum, Siam, India, Pakistan, Arabia, Hong Kong, Formosa, and Wake island. He plans now to complete nine credits towards finishing his masters degree in education administration.
