By Diane Harper The holiday season has offered several families a chance to do some traveling. Mr. and Mrs. Wally Morris, Buddy and DeAnn left for Los Angeles to spend a few days and plan on coming home through Arizona to soak in some of that good old sun. (That is why Im writing the column.) Mrs. Lillian Mclntire and children also went to California to spend the holidays with Lillians mother and ' sister. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Nelson visited their daughter, Loris Lee and family at Moses Lake, Wash. They returned home Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Keith Adams and three children from Oregon spent Christmas here with Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Fredrickson and Mr. and Mrs. A1 Gerhardt. Mrs. Dyan Jones enjoyed a two month visit with LaMar and Gladys Jones in Washington, and then they accompanied her home to spend some time here during the holidays. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Forsgren are in California visiting with their daughter, Ethel. The Pinochle club held their Christmas party at Maddoxs. Sixteen ladies attended. .1 think we should extend our appreciation to the Recreation committee for the fine job they did In planning the community Christmas party. Vernon Cutler is chairman; Miles Ferry, vice chairman, and Gertie Moore, secretary and treasurer. Representatives from various organizations also lend a helping hand. The school children under the direction of their teachers preSanta sented several dances. then led some community singing and shook hands with the youngsters. One little fellow couldnt resist the temptation of seeing if this was the real Santa, and jerked on his beard. Santa and gave really yelled ouch the little guy a spanking. All the boys and girls with their big round eyes really felt that this was the real Santa, and not just a helper who usually has his on. Five hunbeard scotch-tapedred sacks full of treats were given to the children. After spending the past ten months in Moses Lake, Wash., Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Nelson and Teresa have moved back to Corinne. Mrs. Elva Miller became the wife of Wallace Wilde and has moved to Perry. The floor show was presented by Mrs. Grace Orme, from her dancing school in Honeyville. They included an MIA age group and square dancing by six and eight year olds. A large crowd of young people attended. Mr. and Mrs. Warren Petersen and daughter, Joyce, are spending the Christmas holidays in Grays Lake, Idaho, with their and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Lile Burton and their children. Mr. and Mrs. Forriest Monroe of Tooele were in Honeyville on Saturday visiting at the home of. Mrs. Monroes parents, Mr. and Mrs. Warren Petersen. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Hunsaker and children were guests at the home of Mr. Hunsakers parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leon Hunsaker on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. George Wintle, Mrs. Grace Mudge, Mrs. Bertha Covey and Mrs. Joe Jensen and daughter, Joylm, were all dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George Covey in Ogden on Christmas day. returned James Rasmussen home Friday from a lovely trip to different places in California. Richard is after his daddy and Lewis is after his who has been president of the Manti LDS temple for the past 14 years. A well attended sacrament meeting was held Sunday night, Dec. 29, with returned Hawaiian missionaries Cordell Nelson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dave Nelson, and Paul Anderson, son of Mr. and Mrs. David O. Anderson, as guest speakers. Cordell, Paul, and Rulon Smoot sang a Ila waiian song. Cyril Welch has returned home from his mission after spending two years in the Northern States mission. He was stationed at Kankakee, 111. His homecoming will be held Jan. 12. The family of Mrs. Gladys Tin-geenjoyed a holiday party with 32 family members attending. The Corinne Pheasant Association sponsored the diking and flooding of a skating pond, located by the Grover Harper home west of Corinne. Many are enjoying the youngsters pond and many have been digging out their skates and giving it a try. A no host New Years Eve party was held at the home of Mrs. Sarah Young with her grandchildren Billy Dee Young and the following friends atRicky Jones, Kenny tending: Nimori, Richard, Michael and Max Forsgren. The Veterans held their annual New Years Eve dance at the V.F.W. Hall. Mrs. Sharon Miller was the lucky ticket holder and won a beautiful bedspread. The Corinne Recreation committee sponsored a New "Years night dance at the Recreation Hall. The Ernie Jensen orchestra from Ogden furnished the music. 4 roe Russell of Ogden were dinner guests at the home of Mrs. Seth Wheatley on Christmas day. The ladies are sisters.
