Its a wonderful day to spend with ones family, but Christmas the last few years has started too early to suit me and the yellow pumpkin, the turkey, must take a back seat to Santa Claus and the red and green and blue ornaments. Some of the Corinne people enjoying the day with their folks were Penny and Virgil Cutler and family. They went to Provo. The Grant Nelsons went to Preston, Idaho. The Andersons, Evelyn and Tom. Margaret and Everett and Bernice and Loran just about didnt eat Thanksgiving dinner at home for they left Friday morning for California Los Angeles to be specific. Doggone, but its nice weather here too, but then theres Tijuana! Mr. A. V, Smoot and Mr. L. M. Larsen attended the State Dairy Federation at Salt Lake last week. Mr. Larsen was elected the vice president of the state SILVER w ORINNE OMMENTS Holstein-Fresia- WILLARD Drew Godfred has gone to Frultland, Mo. to 6pend six weeks with his mother. Mrs. Edith Harding is spendin ing a two weeks vacation Los Angeles, Calif, with her sisters and other relatives. The Willow Creek camp of the D. U. P. held their monthly meeting at the home of Priscilla Nicholas on Friday, Nov. 24. After the opening exercises the following program was given: Methods and demonstrations of home, life of the pioneers, by Mrs. Byron Chadwick; lesson, Early Mail and Means of Transportation of Same, by Hannah B. Nicholas; Martha reading, W. Dalton; community singing was given. Rrefreshments were served by Edith Lemon, Lillian Kunzler and Priscilla Nicholas raised. For instance, r It was suggested that some one individual contribute the $100 or ten individuals $10 of 20 individuals $5. It was decided to have a dance with refreshments for sale so that even the children might contribute to this worthy cause. I know one Primary president and others' in her teacher group, in Ogden, that is going without her new winter coat to contribute to the fund. This dance will be held December 8th and begin at 8:30 at the ward recreation hall. It might be mentioned, too that each ward, in appreciation of their contribution will receive a President Grant paper weight. . . . There will be some special entertainment in the form of a program and other amusement for those who dont care to dance. The whole evening will be planned to include everyone and to interest everyone. . . . Mr. Dale Bradford, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred E. Bradford, left Sunday for Hamilton Field, California. .. . Mr. Devon Gilbert leaves the 11th of December to join Uncle Sams Mr. Bruce Bradford, army. son of Mr. Sam Bradford is now stationed at Ft. Riley, Kansas. Mrs. Patricia Hammerlund has been confined to her bed with a minor heart ailment The Farm Bureau ladies will meet Wednesday, according to Mrs. Pauline Forsgren, president, in the ward chapel to discuss Christmas ideas. , . Patricia and Louise Reed and Joy and Maraccompagaret Hammerlund, nied by Vesta Ferry, attended the Methodist Youth Fellowship conference in Salt Lake last associa- n tion. He reports that dairymen of all the breeds of the state were there including Leon D. Gardner of Cache, the county agent; Ansen Call, Mr. John M. Hardy of Bear River City and Leon Jensen of Bear River City. . . . Sunday evening at the ward chapel a program was presented in honor of Elder Carl Norman who is back from a Western States Mission. The Corinne choir under the direction of Mrs. Mabel Rasmussen gave its initial performance. There are approximately 30 members of the choir. The Singing Mothers make up a large part. The choir has been asked to sing for one session of the quaiferly conference at Brigham City. . . Elder Carl Norman spoke, and Dr. Edwin Harris and Mr. Vernon Kot-tehigh councilmen. Mrs. Tom Yagl is still very ; sick. . . Mrs. Joyce Fillmore is home with her new baby, a boy. . . . The Moroni F. Botts entertained Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Moroni R. Bott from Brigham City and their son Orval who is leaving soon to fulfill a New England mission. . . . Each ward is being asked to contribute $100 toward the completion of the Primary Childrens hospital in Salt Lake City as some of you may have learned by now. It is a ward affair and here in Corinne it is being headed by the Primary. In a letter to the president, Mrs. Olive Fillmore several suggestions were made as to how this $100 could be Friday and Saturday. r, to eight members and three visitors. Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Woodland motored to Idaho Falls, Idaho, last Friday. Fourteen members of the ward genealogical committee held a party at the home of Chairman last Monday David Kunzler night. Games were played. Luncheon was served. A beautiful table lamp was presented to Mr. Kunzler by the group. Bishop and Mrs. Delbert Cook and Rex Edwards of the bishopric were special guests. was held Ward conference Sunday, Nov. 26. Morning session was for the regular Sunday school work. Present were Presidents Glen Bennion and J. Edwin Baird and Rudgar Price of the stake presidency; David O. Andersen and J. A. Meservy of the stake high council, and Merl Beecher, Evans Woodbury and Carrie Petersen of the stake Sunday school board. There was also an evening session held. Mrs. Helen Jane Lemon and two daughters are visiting at the home of her sister,- Mr. and Mrs. Dave Marchant of Salt Lake ' , City. Mr. J. B. Lee is visiting with his relatives in Tooele. I OFFERS...
