Garland, Deweyville BOX ELDER NEWS, gutted by fires The second major house fire in Bear River Valley in less than a week erupted in North Garland Thursday, resulting in over $10,000 damage to the structure. Monday, a home in Deweyville was nearly destroyed by fire which started in the kitchen Elder John . . . area. R. Bigler farewell May 29 the Garland City Fire department said the Dean L. Busenbark residence was struck by fire about 8:45 a.m. Thursday. No members of the Busenbark family were home at the time and passers-b- y saw smoke coming from the brick structure and turned in the alarm. The home, located two miles north of the intersection of Main and Factory streets, was nearly gutted and most of the contents A spokesman for Mantua elder to Japan Elder John R. Bigler, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gordon 0. Bigler of Mantua, has accepted a call to the Japan-Kob- e mission of the LDS church. His farewell will be Sunday, May 29, at 6 p.m. in the Mantua ward chapel. She was married to Arthur M. Ward on Feb. 3, 1915, in the Salt Lake LDS temple. He died Jan. 28. 1969. She was educated in Woodruff and Malad schools. An active member of the LDS church, she served in the Woodruff ward as MIA counselor, Sunday school secretary and teacher, Primary counselor, Relief society president and visiting teacher. She was a member of Malad Stake mary board for 13 years. Pri- Among survivors is a daughter, Mrs. Khalil V. (Faye) Hansen of Brigham City. Funeral services were held Saturday in the Malad LDS Stake chapel.
