Show f 1 Central teacher to retire this week A teacher with many years experience in the Box Eider school district has retired. Ruth Armstrong, a teacher at Central school the past 22 years, will retire at the end of the ; school year. She graduated from Utah State university in 1947. In addition to teaching during the school year, she taught summer kindergarten until it became a nine month program. She has worked in the MIA, Junior Sunday school and Primary in the LDS church. An active member of the American Legion auxiliary, she has served as unit president of the Brigham unit no. 10, also serving as district president. She also served as president of Weber unit Salon 151 in Ogden. She has also been president of the American University Women in Brigham City. She is a member of the Box Elder Education association, Utah Education association and National Education association. After her retirement she plans to join her husband Charles and visit their two sons and grandchildren. She has a son, Joe, who is a certified public accountant in California. Another son, Tom, lives in Arizona and is employed with the Bureau of Indian Affairs in educa- - f; A a . . . In Garland BOX ELDER Sunday, May 22, 1977 About 300 expected at Lions club event Advance reservations for the 15th anniversary dinner of the Garland Lions club here on Wednesday, May 25, indicate that about 300 people will be in attendance, stated club president Jim Tazoi today. In addition to former members and their partners from as far away as Seattle, Wash, club members and their partners from the Brigham City, Hyrum, Logan clubs already have submitted checks for substantial blocks of tickets for the event. Other club groups are also expecting to be present, states Charles J. Wood, chairman of the committee on arrangements. Many citizens of the area not members have secured ticketsi because of their desire to honor Ruth Armstrong retires from teaching the club for its long record of achievement in behalf of its GRADUATE park and finally to the erection thereof a permanent food stand to be used by community or- community. Green has enlisted in the Air Force Reserve under the bonafide AF Reserve high school program. The son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred W. Green, 342 North Fifth West, Brigham City, will begin his reserve training at Lackland AFB, Texas in June right after graduation from Box Elder High school. After initial training, he will report to Shephard AFB, Texas for seven weeks of specialized training in air cargo procedures. He will then return to Hill AFB, where he will he assigned to the 68th Aerial Port Brigham City, Utah NEWS, Udme ((o&I75 Young Greens father is a staff sergeant with the same unit and indicated, This will be really good training for Alan in addition to a part-tim- e job when he is released from active duty after his specialized training. Clyde Bartlett, Squadron Commander of the 68th, the ceremony was witnessed by Greens mother and several members of his family, as well as Mrs. Bartlett, who traveled from North Logan with her husband.
