Rich in Garland Thursday evening. rary Professor Irving Wasser-man- n of Utah State university in Logan presented his student Miss Jana Ruth Stokes, 11, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Stokes of Plymouth, as the featured artist. Wassermann and Miss Stokes played the First Movement of Haydn Concerto in D Major for two pianos. The professor then discussed the concerto and also the life of the composer and he, himself played The Chopan Waltz in C Sharp Minor. Refreshments were served by the hostess to 19 club members and the following guests: Prof, and Mrs. Wassermann, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Stokes and daughter Jana Ruth and Mrs. Newel Nish of Plymouth, Miss Margaret Woodsides of Ogden, Mrs. David Rich, Mr. Carter Rich and Kathy and Julie Rich of Tremonton. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF BRIGHAM CITY, BOX ELDER COUNTY, STATE OF UTAH: AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 64 CHAPTER 2 BRIGHAM CITY CODE RELATING TO THE SENIOR CITIZENS BOARD, ITS BUDGET, AUDIT AND THE APPOINTMENT OF A DIRECTOR AND 10-1- 2 of the Section 1: Section Brigham City Code is hereby amended to read as follows, 10-1- 2 t: Section 10-1- Payment of costs of electrical connections. Any person desiring an electrical connection within the corporate limits of the city, if the estimated cost thereof shall exceed the sum of one hundred fifty dollars shall deposit with of the the city treasurer one-hadifference between the sum of one hundred fifty dollars and the estimated cost of installation, which sum shall be used by the city to defray the costs of making the electrical connection. The electrical connection when the estimated costs of installing the same is less than one hundred fifty dollars, shall be installed by the city upon written application to the city council and after the necessary, meter deposits or- - other' fir-- 1 rangements have been paid as in this chapter provided. It is specifically provided that if the final cost of installation is less than the estimated cost of installation, a refund shall be made in accordance with a recomputed figure based upon the actual cost' rather than the estimated costs of installation. Section 2: The City Council finds and determines that it is necessary for the preservation of the peace, health and safety of the inhabitants of Brigham City, Utah, that this ordinance take effect immediately, upon its first publication. Section 3: This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its adoption and first publication. To assist the Senior Citizens Board in its duties and to provide supervision and direction of its activities, and after reviewing the recommendations of the Senior Citizens Board the Mayor of Brigham City with the advice and consent of the Brigham City Council, may appoint or hire and remove a director, assistants and other aides as may be necessary insofar as the funds appropriated or furnished to such Board shall permit. Such director, and assistants or aides, if any, shall be employees of, and paid by the City, and such salaries and expenses shall be"chargeable to the Sen- -' ior Citizens budget. The Senior Citizens Board shall prepare an annual budget for each fiscal year, which shall run from July 1st of each calendar year to the succeeding June 30th, and present such proposed budget to the City Council on or before May 1st of each calendar year. No expenditures shall be made by such Senior Citizens Board, except as such are provided for in the annual budget as finally approved and funded by the City. The Senior Citizens Board shall from its own funds cause an annual audit of its books and records to be made and furnished to the City Council. Section 2: The City Council finds and determines this Ordinance is necessary for the immediate preservation of the peace, health and safety of the inhabitants of Brigham City, Utah, and shall take effect upon its adoption and first publication.
