I can almost see some of you turning up your noses at the very thought. I dont know whats happened but a lot of people regard it as something we have to tolerate. I can know the remeber when it was really a big occasion. I dont consider myself as too old but I am old enough to remember when Peach Days was a time looked forward to by young and old alike. The young got a holiday from -school and we all liked to get dressed up and go to town and stroll around and see our friends. Its been changed so much down through the years that if one of our departed natives were to return for a peek at todays activities he would hardly recognize it as the same celebration. Of course the kids still get a kick out of it and maybe thats why I dont feel the same about , it since I no longer like to ride the ferris wheel and toss pennies in a dish.
