Show Plymouth Ponderings Sally Welling back to Utah (hfi p -- I- ii - ' " ' i hospitalized for short visit by Flo Munson Mrs. Salley Welling has been spending the past week as a guest of Mr. and Mrs. Loyd Hess. Sally was recently trans-fere- d from the Continential Telephone Company in Tre-mont- to where she supervisor Telephone North Pole, Alaska is employed as the for the Glacier State which is owned by the Continental Telephone Company. Sally came especially for the wedding and reception held at Bowcutt Reception center in Tremonton Thursday where Miss Joellyn Kidder became the bride of Greg Marble with President Gerald Simmons ficiating at the double-rin- of- g ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Loyd Hess of Plymouth and George Kidder of Ashton, Idaho. The groom is the son of Bishop and Mrs. Boyd Marble of Bothwell. Brad Gibbs assumed duties of best man. Attendants were Julie Hess, JoAnn Holcomb, Cherie Munns, Venna Williams, LaDonna Hess, Penny Marshall and Beverly Hess. Ushers were Mac Munns, Randy, Brian and Dee Marble. Mrs. Welling greeted guests as they arrived. Prior to the wedding a dinner for relatives and members of the bridal party was held at Chases Charcoal House Wednesday evening hosted by Bishop and Mrs. Boyd Marble. About 25 attended. I From a Distance Those coming from some distance away for the wedding and reception were Mrs. William Holcomb, Brian Kidder of Ashton, Idaho; Mrs. Glenn Erwin of Boise who remained as overnight guests of Mr. and Mrs. Loyd Hess. Others attending were Mrs. Tom Holcomb, Miss Kathy Holcomb, George Kidder and Jess Kidder of Ashton, Mrs. Beulah Ludwig of Bosie, Mrs. Harold Iverson and JoAnn Holcomb of Pocatello, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Holcomb of Brigham City, Mr. and Mrs. Russ Myers of Evanston. Tuesday Mrs. Jean Hess, Mrs. Sally Welling and Miss Joellyn Kidder enjoyed the day in Ogden .shopping for .the bride-to-be. Mrs. Welling was also a dinner guest of Mr. and Mrs. A1 Tennison of Bothwell at the Grand View in Logan during the week. Saturday afternoon Mrs. Sally Welling, Mrs. Jean Hess, Mrs. Aurel Larsen, Mrs. Mau-rin- e Scoffield, Mrs. Norma Mrs. Tam Nimori, Mrs. Linda Swenson acqompanied by Mrs. Phyllis Erwin of Boise enjoyed a luncheon at the Cross Roads dining room. , Saturday evening Mr. and Mrs. Donald Vanderhoof, Mrs. Sally Welling, Mrs. Norma Mrs. Tam Nimori enjoyed a dinner party at the home of Mrs. Linda Swenson in Garland. Og-bor- n, Og-bor- n, . ' Likes Alaska Incidentally, Sally reports it is fantastic living in Alaska. She makes her honie in Fairbanks, a short distance from where she is employed in North Pole. She is thoroughly enjoying her work. It was good to have you back in Utah, Sally. Come back again soon! Tuesday Mr. and Mrs. Newel Nish spent the day in Ogden. Enroute home they visited Mr. and Mrs. Karl L. Josephson in Brigham City. Saturday Mr. and Mrs. Newel Nish attended the wedding ceremony in Salt Lake City where their grandson Michael Nish claimed Marcie Frey as his bride. A wedding breakfast followed. They also attended the reception honoring the newlyweds. Returning home they visited Mr. and Mrs. Don Nish and family in Bountiful. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Udy and family accompanied by Mrs. Craig Barnes and family of Brigham City visited Mrs. Edith Atkinson in Samaria Saturday. Enjoying Fathers day dinner at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Stokes and family were Rick Stokes of Roy, Mr. and Mrs. Newel Nish of Plymouth. In the afternoon Mrs. Deanna Godfrey and family of Clarks-to- n visited at the Stokes home. Mrs. Clyde Steed and Mrs. Gary Bell and children attended a William Archibald reunion at Crystal Springs Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Ben Wakely of Malad were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Steed Estep. Mr. and Mrs. Norris Hess and daughter Jana accompanied by Bill Hicks of Logan and Julie Eddie of Garland attend a surprise party for Rodney Hess who was observing his birthday anniversary at the home of Mrs. Gunderson given by the Young Adults Class of Murray. Wednesday Mrs. Nadine Lamb accompanied by Mrs. Verna Jean Wakely and children of Bancroft, Miss Linda Lamb of Plymouth and Mrs. Nonda Thorpe and daughter Jennifer of Honeyville visited Mrs. Elaine Hoesch and family in Clearfield. Orvil Nish and Mrs. Dennis Udy attended the Stake Democratic convention as delegates from the Plymouth Voting district, held in the Salt Palace in Salt Lake City Saturday. Later they enjoyed dinner at the Arrow Press Square. Mr. and Mrs. Rick Davis and family of Inkom,- - Idaho-havbeen visiting Mrs. Daviss fa- -' ther Lawrence Archibald for a few days. Eagle scout Local scout earns Eagle badge Kenneth Wayne Coburn, 15, a troop 210 Boy scout, has earned the rank of Eagle scout. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. G. Wayne Coburn, 679 South Fourth West, Brigham City. Kenneth, an active scout, has earned 29 merit badges including those for swimming, life saving and the mile swim. He is a student at Box Elder High school, where he maintains a 3.7 grade point average., lie has won awards for Span- ish, American history and mathematics. During seventh grade at Box Elder Junior High school, he served as class president. Kenneth is a member of the 10th ward of the LDS church. He presently serves as president of the teachers quorum and has served as a councilor in the quorum. Troop 210 is under the direction of Scoutmaster William Holt. and Mrs. Guy Harris of Bothwell, Mr. and Mrs. Dale Anderson and family of Tremonton. Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Peterson were Mr. and Mrs. F. Allen Baker and family of Layton, Mr. and Mrs. Charles H. Bourne and family of Fielding. In the afternoon Mrs. John (Catherine) Daniels and daughters Melissa and April of Ephraim arrived to spend a few days visiting. Ray and Ricky Owens of San Jose, Calif., have been visiting Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Secrist. Ray remained to spend the summer months. Monday Mr. and Mrs. Earl Pierson accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Gary Woodruff of Bountiful attended the performance of Saturdays Warrior at the Highland High school in Salt Lake City. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Welling left Sunday for a vacation in Seattle. Two Portage men remain in serious condition and are in intensive care units at different hospitals at this time. Ralph Howell is being treated at the LDS hospital in Logan following a heart attack. Glen Morris is being treated at the University of Utah Medical center in Salt Lake City following back surgery. Their wives and members of their families are with them constantly. June Denny, son Steven and daughter, Kathy, Norma Ink and daughter, Debbie, all of Green Acres, Wash, arrived at the home of Junes parents, Mr. and Mrs. David P. Gibbs on Tuesday of last week and left Thursday of this week. While visiting here they enjoyed a family party at the Gibbs home Saturday with Gail Gibbs of Sparks, Nev., Noel Gibbs of Monroe, Ut., Mr. and Mrs. Donald Gibbs of Kaysville and Mr. and Mrs. Lee Nelson of Mantua in attendance. Mr. and Mrs. Keith Conley and son Jim left Friday for their home in Cameno, Island, Wash, after several days visit with Keiths parents, Mr. and Mrs. John F. Conley and other relatives and friends. Dr. Max Conley visited with them Thursday. The Keith Conley family had visited Disneyland and points of interest in California before coming here. They also attended the Pocatello North Region Bicentennial Heritage Arts Clarkston Utah The Honeyville fire department is sponsoring 5 Bicentennial celebration in Honeyg ceremony at 9 ville, beginning with a a.m. at the LDS church. A full days activities are being planned. There will be a Little Buckaroo rodeo at 10 a.m. for children seven to 14 years of age. Fee for riding and roping is $4 each. Special events are for one to 14 years of age, and fee for this is $1. At noon there will be games for all ages, and swimming at the New Crystal Hot Springs from 2 to 4. A pancake supper will be served by the fire department at the LDS parking lot from 5 to 7 p.m. To top the evening off, the Rainbow Wranglers combo will be featured at a western dance to be held on the parking lot from 7 to 11 p.m. Tickets for the days activities are $3 per person or $8 a family. Glendon Rees David Glendon Rees, 69, of Jefferson avenue, Ogden, died Thursday morning, June 2251 24, 1976, at McKay-De- e hospital. He was born Nov. 7, 1906, in Brigham City, a son of Daniel M. and Ella Hansen Rees. Ho married Reah Valentine on Nov. 21, 1934, in Brigham City. The marriage was later soleminzied in the Logan LDS temple. She died Feb. 10, 1957. He was reared in Harper Ward and was a retired plumb- Sale Good South First East, Brigham City, with Bishop Gail B. Gibbs of the Ogden 57th ward officiating. Friends may call at the mortuary Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Brigham City cemetery. Robert D. Scott Robert D. Scott, 60, of AnaHe was a high priest in the heim, Calif, died June 20, 1976.
