Show Eaglettes host region tourney NEWS, Brigham City, Utah Sunday, February 22, 1976 BOX ELDER Showdown Region Nine time is near in the girls portion of basketball as the Eaglettes play Wasatch Monday night in Heber City to determine second place in the region. The local cagers lost a two pointer to Morgan last week, to fall from a tie for first place m The showdown portion comes Thursday and Friday when the Eaglettes host the regions playoff tournament. Morgan plays the loser of the Monday game at 7 p.m. and the winner meets South Summit at 8:30 Thursday. The winners automatically qualify for the state tournament while the losers are out. Friday, the winners determine seedings, playing at 3:30 p.m. The losers meet to determine fourth ami fifth places at 2 p.m. Union automatically qualified for state with the region crown and does not participate in the bm pic-tue- David Smith, David Johnson, Mark Hill, Chad. OUR Success Higher The success in the units having hunters choice permits was significantly higher than areas not having permits, as expected, due to the increased opportunity to harvest an animal. The overall success in these areas was 50.9 percent compared to the general hunt success percentage of 23.6. Some 2,535 deer were harvested in the hunters choise units. The breakdown consisted of 1,620 antlerless deer and 915 bucks. The highest success was experienced in the San Juan-Blu- e Mountain unit (herd unit 31A) and the San Juan-El- k Ridge unit (herd unit 31B). The success ratios of thes two units were 66.7 percent and 66.4 percent respectively. Resident hunters comprised 74.6 percent of the permit holders and nonresident sportsmen made up the remaining 25.4 percent. There were 3,854 residents and 1,315 nonresident RE0. Sgt. Tom Sneddon booked the four after two were apprehended by school employes and the two implicated the others who were also arrested. An earlier story said Mrs. James Whitlock of 1050 East Third North, Brigham City, filed the complaints. That was incorrect. Mrs. Whitlock was the complaining witness who reported the incident.
