Candidate for STATE REPRESENTATIVE District 61 Brigham City Mantua Democrat ALMA ALEX ON THE ISSUES Education: More state funds are spent on education than in any other single area, making this one of the most important issues for state officials. Within the framework of available funds, support the following: Reduced class size, both in elementary and higher education. I Expanded adult education programs. Increased programs for the unusual child, both gifted and handicapped. Improvements in state trade schools. Improvements in the quality of higher education. Free driver training for adults. Taxation: Our older citizens on reduced incomes have had to of recent inflation. To ease this burden, I advocate: bear much of the burden sales taxes on food and drugs. Reduced property taxes for retired persons. Removal of General tax reform, revising the tax structure to distribute the load more equitably. I would appreciate your vote November 5.
