Darin Wight shot a 103 to win the boys 10 and under flight and Gene Monk won the 15 and under with a 151 for 36 holes. Wight won his flight by 10 maple trees. No. 3 should be an easy birdie hole. This par 4 has a slight downhill dogleg to the right with a wide landing area. No. 4, is the tougher of the par 3s with a double terraced tee downhill to a long narrow green. Any ball missed to the left would require a very difficult uphill approach shot. The hole is heavily wooded to the right. No. 5, is a challenging d par 4 with a double terraced elevated tee hitting downhill. The fairway is a slight dogleg to the left with a large, 360-yar- d 150-yar- 380-yar- unqsually shaped a 154. The entire hole is cut through large quaking aspen. The green is small and requires an accurate approach shot. On this hole the golfer need not be long, but he must be straight. Coached by veteran manager Art Hindberg, the local lads swept past three foes to grab championship honors in the tourney, Aug. It was the second year for participation by the northern Utah club and its first title there. Brigham City was scheduled to meet Pocatello in opening round action. However, the Idaho team declined to play and thus forfeited after one of its members was killed in an accident.
