A flag raising ceremony was presented by the cub scouts from Pack 139 in Bothwell. Guest speakers were Jack Loveless, general manager of the Intermountain Farmers association and Elwood Shaffer, director of communications for the Utah Farm Bureau staff. The two men discussed problems facing the farmers during the energy crisis. Mrs. Wynn (LaDene) Zundel was installed as the womens chairman replacing Mrs. Oleen (Maxiene) Garn. Sherman Earl will replace Richard Petersen as a director. Mrs. Pauline Maquire and children, John, Jamie, and Darlene arrived in Salt Lake City Saturday evening from Providence, R.I. They were met at the airport by Mr. and Mrs. John Laws. Pauline will be living in Tremonton for the next six months while her husband is on sea duty with the Navy. Sunday Visitors Sunday evening Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Laws and family of Layton were visitors at the John Laws home. Mrs. Jeanette Roberts is now at home. She spend a few days during the week in Logan where underwent she medical treatment. Mrs. Bessie Hone, who has been receiving medical care at the McKav hosDital in Oeden is also due home Friday or Saturday. Some of the people from Bothwell visiting Bessie during her hospital stay included, Mr. and Mrs. Max Anderson, Mr. and Mrs. DeLon Stokes, Mrs. Colleen Laws, Mr. and Mrs. LaMont Nelson. Reed Harris took his Sunday school class on a sleigh riding party Saturday afternoon, and 17 class members enjoyed the Snowmobile rides, followed by a lunch at the Harris home. LuWayne Harris and LeRoy Firth were also with the group. Mrs. LaRaine Harris, Primary president wishes to express her thanks to all of those who helped with the Farm Bureau banquet Friday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Peterson and Miss Janalee Mortensen attended Sacrament meeting Sunday in Tremonton, where the son of Mr. and Mrs. Larry Forsgren was given the name of Jason Alvin Forsgren, by his father. Following the services dinner was held at the Forsgren home. Those in attendance included Mr. and Mrs. Harold Peterson, Janalee Mortensen, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Forsgren of Thatcher, Idaho, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Corbett, and family and Mrs. Emily Tolman. Inservice Mettlng Teacher inservice meeting was held Wednesday evening at the Bothwell ward churchhouse. The lesson was given by Jana Lee Roberts followed by light refreshments. Matt Zollinger and Linda Cox were married Thursday in the Logan LDS temple. A number of friends from Bothwell and Thatcher attended the wedding. That evening the young couple were honored at a reception in ward in the Oxford-CliftoClifton, Idaho. The following evening an open house was held at the Thatcher-Penros- e ward. Mrs. Jack Leak of Penrose was honored recently at a birthday dinner held at the Robert L. Peterson home in Brigham City. She has taken tests for the State Good Citizen award which will qualify her to receive scholarships to attend the school of her choice. According to debate manager Tom Stoddard, meets are scheduled today (Thursday) at Layton; Monday here with Logan, and a State-wid- e tourney in Salt Lake City on Saturday, Jan. 26. That meet will host three four-madebate teams from each participating school. Two of the four will take straight affirmative debates, with the others assuming positions negative to the resolution that the federal government should guarantee a minimum income for each family unit.
