Show Cage action Commercial league Gloom thick as Bees lose again The gloom is thick and getting thicker around the Box Elder basketball camp. The Hivers lost their fifth straight Region One game Friday night, bowing to visiting to retain a Bonneville, very firm hold on the league cellar position. This was the one which the Bees hoped to win to turn Iheir season around. And at the outset it appeared they might. The Hive guys romped to a 6 advantage in the second quarter on some torrid shooting and deft ball handling. But then the Lakers who came to town 3 with an anemic record, caught fire, dominated the backboards and scored 18 points in a stretch while holding the Bees to four lonely counters. By the end of the half Bonneville was up by one at stretched that margin to at turn and then the destroyed their adversaries in the final period. 70-5- 24-1- 40-3- 54-5- 0 three-quart- Same Story It was the same old story. The Bees were in there until the home stretch and and then did the el foldo act. And again they showed little ability to break a zone defense, particularly in the second half. Hot Hand Box Elder produced its own version of how to play with a hot hand, posting a 60 percent average in the first half and ending the game at 52 percent, The problem? They got the ball up only 44 times and made just eight fielders in the entire second half. The Bees were better in the mistake department on this occasion, turning the ball over just 11 times, but the beating they took on the boards from the taller Lakers and their inability to score on the zone throttled their hopes. Next High After Burrell, high man for Bonneville was Steve Baird with 17 points, followed by Alan Gardner with 11. Best for the Bees was Jim Kaminska with 16 counters. The scorer only other double-figur- e was Rick Yagi with 12 points on some fine outside shooting. Randy Yagi and Larry Bywater were credited with four assists each. The Bees salvaged something from the nights doing when the junior varsity came out on top, thanks in large measure to a output by Bryce Thompson. Wade Hall added 10 points to the Hive cause. 54-5- Should you buy a family size car... or a small car?
