Perry hopefuls are introduced Mayor Jay Matthews of Perry is the only incumbent seeking reelection in Tuesday's election in the Box Elder county community and is running on the Citizens party ticket. The following is a brief in- troduction to each of the hopefuls seeking office at Perry. Matthews is a life long resident of Perry. He owns and operates a farm and fruit stand along with being custodian of Perry Elementary school. At the present time he is president of the classified employees of Box Elder School district and is on the board of directors of the Perry Canning company of which he is secretary. He is actively interested in sports and has coached and sponsored many athletic teams. At the present time is serving as president of the Sunday school in Perry LDS ward. He and his wife, the former 10 BOX Willis A. Crouch Joyoe Kunzler, are the parents of two sons. Paul Krambule Paul Krambule is the Citizens party candidate for councilman on the town board. He has resided in Perry for eight years with his wife, the former Darlene Coleman, and their four children, one son and three daughters. Willis A. Crouch as been nominated to run as a candidate councilman for the for four-yea- r Citizens party. He has been a resident of Perry for the past 14 years where he now resides with his wife, the former Gloria Wintel, and their three children. He is employed at Boman and Kemp Steel Supply Co. of Ogden where he is chief engineer. Crouch is a graduate of Weber State college and has attended Utah State university and the University of Utah. He has been active in the scouting program and held various positions in the LDS church. Newell Francis "Tim Newell Born and raised in Logan, he received his education in the Cache county schools. He at- Francis tended Utah State university. ELDER NEWS, Brigham City, Utah Sunday, November 4, 1973 graduating from Malad High. Stack spent five years in the Army. He owns and operates a fruit farm in Perry and slo is distribution falestest specialist at Defense Depot Ogden where he has been employed for 23 years. He served on the Perry City council for four years and was over the parks and water. He has also served as chairman of the Christmas Peoples party candidate for mayor, was born and raised in Perry. He was educated in Box Elder county schools and later attended Weber State college. He is a veteran of the Korean conflict. Francis is married to the former Louise Facer. He is the father of four children, two boys and two girls, Timothy, John, Susan and Nancy Lou. He is experienced in the areas of construction and excavation, law enforcement and business. He is presently employed with the Box Elder County Sheriffs department. When asked about his plans if elected mayor, he said he would like to see improvements in the Perry roads and water system. The U HELPING HAND PRESCRIPTION PROGRAM Robert Call Call has been nominated by the Peoples party for four-yea- r councilman. Call was born and raised in Willard, receiving his education in Box Elder county schools. Owning a small fruit farm in Perry, he built a home and moved here about one year ago. He is married to the former Mary Lou Holman and they are the parents of four married children. He is a partner of Superior dairy in Brigham City. He served two years in the US Army, spending most of his time in Japan. He is active in the Perry Second ward and at the present time is elders Robert quorum president. He is married to the former Shirley Jones and they are the parents of three children. Born in California, he was raised in Malad, Idaho, - Darel 0. Johnson has been sustained as first counselor in the Brigham City Fifteenth Ward bishopric. He succeeded James M. Dietz in the position. He was born In Porterville, a son of Charles A. and Louise Buchanen Walton. As a small boy he moved with his parents to Coalville where he was reared and educated. He was a veteran of World War I, serving in four major battles in France. Mr. Walton was manager of the Con Wagon and Machine company in Coalville. In 1919 he moved to Tremonton and became manager of the C. W. and M. company there. On Aug. 9, 1929 he claimed Isabella Pack as his bride in rites performed in the Logan LDS temple. He and his wife owned and operated a weekly newspaper, The Bear River Valley Leader, for in Tremonton approximately 16 years. In 1933 Mr. Walton was appointed as postmaster, a position he served for 25 years. He was bishop of the Tremonton First ward and Tremonton Second ward for 17 years. During this time a new church was built. Mr. Walton was the recipient of the Master M Men award and the same evening his wife received her Honorary Golden Gleaner award. For 37 years Mr, Walton served as a Sunday school teacher in the adult class. In 1944 he was ordained patriarch in Bear River stake by LDS Apostle Ezra Taft Benson.
