Show Brigham Mrs. Gilbert North Third Jensen, 635 East, was one of six leaders to be Utah presented with a leadership award by the Utah State Farm bureau. According to Amy Kearsley, Utah State university extension supervisor, the Farm bureau has been presenting awards to outstanding adult leaders since 1930. The leaders are nominated by their county extension agents and the selection of the winners is made by a state committee. Drigham Firemen Take Intensive ET.'IT Several City Brigham volunteer firemen are currently undergoing intensive medical training at Weber State college. LaMar Davis, Rod Romer, Bill Sackett, Elmer Yates and Bob Haynie, are enrolled in the intensive first of four Utah Medical Emergency Technician training programs. The course began last week. Sponsor Course The program is sponsored by the State Division of Health, the Utah State Medical association, the Intermountain Regional Medical program, and the U.S. Department of Transportation through the Utah Highway Safety program. The Nationally course has attracted certified 55 them Utah ambulance nor-- , at- tendant, sheriffs office, police department, fire department, and Hill Air Force Base enrollees. The 55 participants are engaged in emergency medical work and have American Red Class specialized physicians, and eight EMT specialists. Course Requires Completion of the course, which requires 71 hours of classroom training and at least ob10 hours of servation, and passage of a written examination, enables participants to qualify for national EMT certification.
