Brown, who enjoyed a day of visiting with her parents. Their grandson, Dr. David L. McCann recently of Silver Springs, Md., also visited at the Larsen home. He is the son of Dr. and Mrs. L.P. District Club Women Honor Past Presidents Clubwomen from throughout northern Utah gathered for the 50th annual convention of the northern district of Utah Federation of Women's clubs pn Saturday, April 15, at the Student Union building at Utah State university in Logan. With the theme Building for the days acFifty Years, tivities were conducted under the direction of Mrs. Verl L. Petersen of Brigham City, district president. As one of the events of the convention, Mrs. Roy Barnard announced that Mrs. Petersen had been selected as the district Representative Club Woman of the Year and her name forwarded to the state federation for competition on the state level. Honorable mention in the club woman competition went to Mrs. Jack Shumway of Tremonton, nominated by the Womens Civic League of that city. Resident Chosen Another City Brigham resident, Mrs. George Kelly, was elected and installed as president of the northern district for the coming two-yeterm. She is a former president of the Ladies Community club of Brigham City. Program of the day included a special presentation Fifty Years of High Hopes given by Mrs. Jay Holmgren, Mrs. Richard Kimber and Mrs. Michael Carver. A presidents panel moderated by Mrs. George Kelly included reports by Mrs. Claire Bowcutt of the Civic and Home Arts club of Garland, Mrs. J. Oleen Palmer of the Civic Improvement club, Mrs. Boyd Anderson of the Ladies community club, Mrs. Raymond Moore of the Logan Federated Women's club, and Mrs. Jack Shumway of the Women's Civic League of Tremonton. Honor Presidents Mrs. Verl L. Petersen and Mrs. Raymond Moore conducted a presentation honoring past presidents of the district as part of the 50th anniversary celebration. A native of Malad, she has resided in Box Elder County most of her life and graduated from Box Elder High school. She received her college education at Westminster College in Salt Lake City, where she majored in commercial art and political science. Miss Flint is advertising manager for Hamilton Drug Centers, and was employed in the same capacity at the Box Elder News and Journal before joining the Hamilton chain two years ago. Golf Opening Begins Season Opening day activities for the to the Ladies Auxiliary Brigham City Country club attracted a crowd of eager lady golfers on Wednesday, April 26, for a golf clinic and brunch. Winners for the days golfing were Nancy Jane Bales, Noreen Pierette Wilson, Holmgren and Betty Allen. April 3 will be ladies day, with coffee and rolls served at 9 a.m. before the golfing begins. Mrs. Edna Harlan of Ogden (sister of the late Ken Jensen of Brigham City), presented a lovely china doll which was won by Mrs. Mary Pearse Owens. Mrs. Winnie Roush read a poem as a tribute to Mrs. Harlan for her long years of service to the returned last weekend from a three-wee- k trip that took them to New Mexico, Texas and Kansas. They traveled first to Gallup, N.M. where they spent some time with their and daughter Mr. and Mrs. Les Ogden and daughter Kami. Leaving Gallup, Mrs. Ogden and Kami went with them to Alburquerque, then to Lubbock, Amarillo and Perryton, Tex. where they visited friends and relatives. Then they went to Liberal, Kan. where the Claybaughs once operated a newspaper. A stop in Wood-- . more, Colo., let them spend some time with his nephew and family Mr. and Mrs. K. Wayne Claybaugh. Traveling through Denver, over Raton Pass to Santa Fe, then Alberqurque to Gallup. Mrs. Ogden and Kami remained in Gallup and the Claybaughs returned on home marking 3,000 miles they had traveled during their three-wee- k tour. son-in-la- Brigham The Dizzy Dates club had their first meeting on April 24. Shaw has returned from a delightful trip to California. She had a good reason to go too. She had never seen the Elden Shaws new baby, even though it was five months old. She traveled to visit the Elden Shaws in Cupertino, got her first look at little Susan and got reacquainted with May Fellowship Luncheon Date Slated by CWU Church Women United of Box Elder County will join with women around the world in observance of May Fellowship Day set for Friday, May 5, beginning at 10 a.m. at the Protestant Student center, Brigham City. The church women will begin with a dialogue on internationally chosen theme "Behold the Woman" and the program will be of a discussion type under the chairmanship of Ruth Cosgrove assisted by Vivien Card, president. Following the discussion, a time of fellowship over lunch is planned to begin at 12 noon. This years luncheon will be a salad 'n sandwich lunch catered by the Pizza Palace, and reservations may be made at a cost of $1.15 per woman by calling either Mrs. Cosgrove or Mrs. Card. Assisting with luncheon arrangements will be Wilma Daniels, Dot Bolieau, Beth Gurrister and Mildred Crumlic. There will be babysitting with Christine provided, Apodaca as nursery attendant.
