(Diane) Weilenmann, former fashion buyer to two outstanding womens stores, to be guest narrator for their .annual spring fashion show slated for Thursday, April 13, at Box Elder High school. is a Mrs. Weilenmann graduate of the University of Uath in marketing and textiles, and created the Department of Fashion Merchandising for the LDS Business college and Stevens-Henega- r in Ogden and Salt Lake City. She is also former sales coordinator of LeVoys Lingerie in Salt Lake City. Active in civic, political and church affairs, she is currently serving on the Salt Lake City Art Center board and is director of finance for Ballet West. Ticket Sales Ticket sales are progressing well, according to general chairman Norma Price and ticket chairman Sharon Ward. Tickets are priced at one dollar admission per person, with the on price also including chances ten doorprizes donated to the club by local merchants. Funds from the annual show go into the projects conducted by the club for the betterment of the community, with an eye to the youth of the community. Lakeview school in Brigham City, was selected as "Young Career Woman of 1972 by the local chapter of the Business and Professional Womens club during their recent dinner meeting held at the Red Baron restaurant. Chosen as first alternate for the local club was Mrs. Clixie Hollingsworth, also a teacher, and Mrs. Carolyn Anderson, a secretary. A panel of three judges from outside the community made the decision as the candidates presented short biographical sketches and outlined their careers and goals. In her fourth year of teaching, Mrs. McDougall is completing her second year on the kin- dergarten level after having taught fifth grade for two years prior to that, also on the staff at Lakeview school. " BEHS Graduate Mrs. McDougall is the former Sandra Jensen, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Loyal Jensen, and is a graduate of Box Elder High school. She then attended Utah State university, in graduating with a child and development elementary education. Since her university graduation, she has taken various courses from area colleges and universities to keep her knowledge of teaching and subjects current. A visit to the kindergarten classroom finds busy engrossed in the work and play typical of that grade level, with Mrs. McDougalls classroom reflecting an orderly and peaceful atmosphere despite the many activities being conducted. Likes Teaching Asked for her philosophy teaching, Mrs. McDougall states that it is similar to that shared by most modern teachers in that she feels that each child must be accepted as an individual and developed according to the child's own abilities and temperament. "Meet them where they are, she states, "And develop them as far as you can in one year. She felt that this philosophy was the same whether applied to her two years in fifth grade or her two years in kindergarten. Mrs. McDougall and her husband, Bryan McDougall, reside in Brigham City. She is active in church and other organizations, but finds that her love of teaching and developing children makes a classroom one of her favorite places to be. Judging on the district basis will include not only the written resume on each candidate, but each will be required to integrate a suggested topic in a scheduled speech closely utilizing stringent guidelines.
