Musical Groups Entertain Local Couple Exchanges Vows BSP Epsilon Chapter Two musical groups from the Box Elder High school music department entertained members of the Epsilon chapter of Beta Sigma Phi and their guests at a meeting held May 16 at the home of CleoraRollins. Program chairman for the evening was Mary Lou Fitch, who introduced a girls double trio and a boys quartet, Two Brothers and Two Others. Program theme was based on the topic, "Substance for the Art The of Life. . .the Beautiful. students presented a delightful evening of music, under the direction of J. Eart Johnston, their instructor. Both groups lare members of the Madrigal Singers at BEJ1S. Special invited guests included Donna Webb, Helen Money, Lois Williams, Betty Hendricks, Lois Lishman, Mail Christensen, Elaine Hansen and Dalene llansen. Refreshments were served at R. Mr. and Mrs. Denver Jones, Sr., Brigham City, Utah, announces the marriage of their daughter, Janacele, and Dr. Coleman Morrison Whitlock, Jr., which was solemnized Friday evening April 19 at the Our Lady church of the Snows Catholic Rt. near Lake Tahoe, Calif. Rev. Monsignor Patrick J. Connors officiated at the nuptial ceremony. Dr. Whitlock is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Coleman Morrison Whitlock, Sr., Mount Airy, North Carolina. After a wedding trip to San Francisco and Squaw Valley, the couple is at home at 629 Beecher Lane, Brigham City. May 21. Brigham Couple Observes Mr .and Mrs. Archie C, Stokes, Second West, Brigham City, will observe their golden wedding anniversary today, Tuesday, May 21. They were honored at a family dinner given Sunday afternoon at Harmons Cafe in Ogden by their sons and daughters, with all members of their family in attendance. Mr. and Mrs. Stokes have resided in Brigham City for the past ten years. They lived in Ogden during the greater part of their married lile in Ogden, where he worked as a locomotive engineer for the Southern Pacific Railroad Co. He was retired on July 28, 1962. They are active members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-daSaints and of the Brigham City Third ward. Chapter memhers were informed that the Brigham City Epsilon chapter had received the honor of becoming a three-sta- r The first "Golfer of the Month of the Silver Tournament Bowl," will take place Wednesday, May 22, it was anounced by officers of the Brigham City Ladies Golf Auxiliary. The tournament has been set up to be played on the last Wednesday of each month, as part of the regular ladies day at the Brigham City Golf course. A silver bowl will be given to the lady golfer who shoots the low net score. This is based on handicap play so all will have an equal chance of winning, officers explained. Its right down your alley - - - TIME will be at 9 a. m. Coffee and rolls will be served before the play begins, according to Mrs. V. N. Boothe, chairman of the event. Assisting her are Mrs. Phyllis Baron and Mrs. Fred Mitchell. The committee also will serve punch and cookies at the end of the morning tournament. All lady golfers are urged to play golf Wednesday even if they do not want to participate in the tournament, Mrs. Boothe said. AT THE MAY luncheon meet' ing of the Golf Auxiliary, Mrs. C. J. Beasley announced the winners for the months play. The winners are Mrs. Rex Bryant, Mrs. Fred Mitchell, Mrs, Harold Bouck, Mrs. John Larson, Mrs. James Ford, Mrs. Stayner Thompson, Mrs. Grant Moser, Mrs. Edward Case, Mrs Sammie Jenkins, Mrs. Russell Fishburn (low putts for the month). At the April luncheon, three players were awarded prizes. They were Mrs. James Ford, Mrs. Walter G. Mann and Mrs. Delbert Hadfield (low putts). Opening prayer was offered by Norma Jean Hotter, and pledge to the Flag was lead by Fay Holman. Singing and program numbers were under the direction of Martha Smoot, accompanied by Adele Christensen. Mrs. William A. Wood was welcomed to the camp as a transfer from Ogden. ' Donna and Karen Smoot sang a duet, accompanied by Ann Norman. Two tap dance and song numbers were presented by Sue Norman, Sally, Tammy and Peggy Smoot. The lesson, "Pioneer Midwas given by Olive wives, Fillmore, and a bulletin read by Fay Holman.
