The contest has been divided into a junior division, under 18 years old, and a senior division for those 18 or older. Rules of the contest stipulates that the story must not exceed 1,500 words and must relate a true incident in the life a Utah pioneer. Deadline has been set for July 1. Winners will be named July 31 and will receive framed Distinguished Service Awards from the national society. On Monday, judging took place for the 10 finalists from which a Print Princess and two attendants will be chosen. The royalty is chosen by the Girls league officers and members on the basis of originality, neatness and appearance of the spring dresses worn by the girls. Toughest competition for the Bee linksters came from a quartet of Ogden high golfers who finished with a 327 total. Logan was third, two strokes behind at 329 while Weber scored 333 and Ben Lomond was far back with 413. Medalist honors for the afternoons play went to Ogdens Mike Farrell who combined rounds of 37 and 35 for a respectable 72 for 18 holes. Second and third place went to Box Elder players, Lynn Brailsford With a 74 and Merlin Jenson, who posted a 75. The match was played under conditions but didg nt seem to hamper the Bees who found the course wet hut to their liking. It toas the first competition of the season for them.
