De Ann Younger and Judy Suzuki were not present when the picture was taken. r, Willard Ward Mia Maids Tie Roses in Annual Rose Tying Ceremony Held Tuesday, April 16 The Mia Maids Rose Tying ceremony was held in the Willard ward, Tuesday evening, April 16. Program began at 8 p. m. with a piano solo by Cheryl Younger. Carol Burden olfered the invocation followed by the theme by Roberta Pritchard. Address of welcome was given by Rosanne Kunzler followed by a trio, Karen Facer, Cloette Barber and Carolyn Bridges, singing April Showers accompanied by Mrs. Ila Facer. Don Christensen presented a reading followed by a piano selection by DeAnn Young. A rose was then presented to Mrs. Marie Johnson, stake Mia Maid leader, by Nancy Sorenson. Myrna Talbot followed with The Symbol of the Rose. The Rose Tying ceremony was then given by each girl placing her rose in the bouquet and telling what her rose meant to her. The trio then entertained The bouquet with O, Rose. wastied by Mrs. Vesta Evans and presented to President Iva Archibald, of the Y.W.M.I.A , who complimented the girls on their achievement. The trio again sang followed by benediction by Joan Braeg-ge- v'Vi! from a lace covered table centered with a bouquet of spring flowers. Mrs. Lavon Thompson received recognition for lowest putts with an eleven. Mrs. Thompson is now in the running for the low putting traveling pin which will be presented at the next ladies day, May of 15. Her low putts of 11 will win the pin providing another lady golfer does not cut under her 11 score. The pin is permanently awarded at the close of the golfing season for the lady golfer with the lowest putts for the season. Due to the enthusiasm created by the traveling pin last year it was decided to again use the contest in this years plans.
