DRY CLEANING Advice Offered On Rental Income PILLOWS CLEANED We have found that a number of farmers in the area have for social security Credit and paid the tax on rental income, Jay M. Hansen of the Ogden social security office said this week. Rental income is not covered by social security, Hansen stating that claims for social security benefits filed on the basis of such income will be disallowed. This exclusion of rental income applies to rent from houses or apartments. It also applies to rental of business property, either urban or rural. The income which the landowner receives from the ordinary share farming arrangement is classified as rent and is not subject to the social security tax. If the tax has been paid on such income, Hansen said, the Internal Revenue Service must be notified that it was erron eously paid and that agency will refund it to the taxpayer.
