Johnson Open house Sunday afternoon, February 13 will honor the 70th birthdate of Hyrum L. Johnson, at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Karl Josephson, 403 south Second west. Johnson was born February 11, 1879 in Brigham City, a son of the late Peter and Annie Johnson, early pioneers of Brigham City. He fulfilled a mission for the L. D. S. church to . Denmark in his youth. He married Marie Jacobsen, who died December IS, 1944. He later married Charlotte Secrist. Despite his age, Mr. Johnson is still very active and participates in church functions. Mr. Johnson has five living children; Mrs. Iona Cefalo, Mrs. Leah Josephson and Joseph R. Miss Margaret Stewart, past treasurer of the National Federation and founder of the Ogden club, will talk on Career Markets. Miss Sarah Nielsen, president of the Ogden organization, is in charge of arrangements, the invitation being extended at the present time to give the Brigham City group an opportunity to view Miss Lura Redd's art exhibit which is now hung In the auditorium, it was explained. Miss Redd is a member of the Brigham City group. President of the Brigham City club is Mrs. Mablc-- Nielsen, with Rllla Holst vice president, Norma Jensen recording secretary, Hannah Hillam corresponding secretary and Ruth Bott treasurer. Members of the Brigham City organization are urged to attend if possible to view this fine exhibit, according to Mrs. Nielsen. The Reading Circle met at the home of Mrs. Amanda Jensen Wednesday evening to hear a very charming review of the Mrs. book. Black Rose, by Margaret Johnson. Author of the book is Thomas B. Costain.
