In actual games real pins will have to be used, but the machine dot's eliminate pins and pin setters which will cut down the ex pense of bowling practice and open play games. There is no deflection of the ball as it strikes the pins and consequently strikes are easier to get. This is one of the that will have to be made in the machine. They can, however, cut down the strike clot to make this more difficult. Also it will be impossible to pick-ua poncle split. This is a split where the two corner pins are left after the first ball because there is no way of hitting a pin and having it cross the alley and picking the two opposite side pins. The automatic pin setting machine will not be prohibitive in cost and will cut the expense of bowling. 1 Wrestling Bout zoe?mv CNE OF Tt BEST CXVECS OF O MIO THE WAVES, ESTIMATED 0 If Wednesday Eve The w esthng matches that were held m the Armoiy last Wednesday evening slowed up In tempo and action, but were entertaining to say the least, to the largest crowd of the season. Here are a few simple facts to remember, Eland explained: 1. Dont shoot until you are sure. 2. Miss a deer and save a life. 3. Do not carry loaded gun in the car, or around camp. Get on the range before you put ammunition and gun together. 4. Do oof iniv alcohol and gun It is unfair to the other powder sportsmen. 5. The ranges are dry. Avoid fires by being caieful around Take a little time and camp. effort in putting out the fires. 6. Save your time and that of your frineds by orienting yourselves upon entering your hunting territory. It is easy to get lost. Hand also appealed to sportsmen to respect private and public property alike. Treat a mans property so he will be pleased to have you hunt again next year. Talk to the landowners. e interested. We have no record of the who thousands of fishermen went into the lake this year, but the anglers were taking limits through the last day, Turpin said. "We received only the best compliments Horn the higher lakes. We grant there was a lot of criticism about the lighter possession limits, but few went into the high mountains who did not come out with their limits. If we are careful there will always be that kind of fishing in these waters. But it can be wasted. On some of our more popular streams and lakes, we stocked them heavier than ever beforp; they held up under terfor rific pressure. The Provo, instance, almost ran out of water toward the end of the season, and the fish were Lightened and hungry. A. about their beuef.ti. Use of "C nunibeis speeds up service to veterans, V. A. said. A number is issued to each veteran applying for compensation. pension, schooling, training or other V. A. benefit. The number, appearing on his case folder, will identity hint in V. A. avoids the resl of his hie, and i may be used by dependents lus death. C numbers often are the only means by which V. A. can distinguish one veteran from another. With some 24.000.000 veterans names in V. A.s files, names are duplicated many thousands of times over. The files contain 217, 000 Smiths. 12.500 of them named John. Also on file are 38,500 Adams, 5)00 of whom are named John Quincy; 7,000 John (Browns; 9,000 William Biowns; 12,000 Bradleys, and 102 Kisenhowers. When a veteran requests information from V. A. pertaining to his case, his folder, filed by C number, must be located first If he does not know his number, V. A. must search its alphabetical index card file until the veteran's card is found. From the card, V. A. obtains his O number. The case folder then can be located In the files The entire procedure is time consuming. As a result, the veteran is forced to wait longer for his information On the other hand, if the veteran knows his "C number, his folder can be located immediately and he usually will receive a reply in a much shorter period of time.
