Show BOX ELDER NEWS-JOURNA- L Brigham City, Utah, Friday, March 22, 1946 for Audrene Harper Will Be Crowned Queen At Corinne Ward Gold And Green This Evening Harper Scouts Entertain Parents The Boy Scouts of the Harper ward held their annual supper lor their parents at the ward chapel on March 8 at 8 oclock. The meal was planned, furnished and prepared by the boys of Scout Troop 107. This has been an annual event for the past 15 years. The chicken and vegetables for the meal were barbecued by E Emtwo ery Wight assisted by scouts, Grant Holmes and Jon- athan Welch. There were Anckrsen, daughter of Mrs Ruth P Andersen, will be umuitd as queen and will h igu duiiiig the remainder of the evening. Bitty Ruth Iversen, daughter! of Mi and Mrs Ernest Iverson, and Jcx-Hunsaker, daughter' of M-- s Anna Hunsaker, have lx eu chosen as to attendants Miss Norma Andersen. Flower girls will be Sharon Loveland, daughter of Mis. Wnnlied Evans Loveland, and Donna Morgan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs Max Morgan Devon Hamilton, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hamilton, will be crown bearer. e 46 parents, scouts and scouters present. The closing prayer was by Paul Hunsaker. The scouts were congratulated for a very fine evening of entertainment. All Sons of Utah Pioneers were urged today to remember the meeting to be held in the Sunclubrooms Commercial day afternoon, March 24, beginning at 1 oclock. Officers of the state organization will be on hand at ttie meeting to discuss Sons of Utah Pioneer airangements and participation in the Utah Centennial observance in 1947. Harper Relief Society Holds Birthday Party of March 17, the birthday the Relief society of the L.D S. church, was celebrated by the Harper ward Relief society Friday evening, March 15, at the Harper ward chapel. Miss Verla Tracy and Dorene Wheeler were chosen as her attendants. Each of the girls received a lovely corsage. Norris Larsen crowned the queen and Mrs. Ray Woodland pidncd the corsages on the young ladies. Dancing began at 9 oclock. Henry Knud-sen- , and Kay Johnson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Johnson, dressed in satin gold and green formals were flower girls. Robert Hollist, son of Mr. and Mrs. Orson Hollist, was crownbearer. First Ward Holds Relief Society Party The 104th anniversary of the Relief society organization in the L. D. S. church was celebrated Tuesday, March 19, in the First ward chapel. The meeting was in honor of the older members of the organization in the First ward. Twenty-thre- e older members were present. Mrs. Leona H. Reese conducted the meeting which was planned under the direction of Mrs. Abel S. Rich. Mrs. Zenos Earl gave the history of the first Relief society organization. Harold B. Felt played two violin solos, accompanied by Mrs. Margaret Johnson. Mrs. J. Edwin Baird accompanied by Miss Barbara Rasmussen, sang a vocal solo. A cornet quartet composed of Garth Baird, Earl Nielsen, Steand Richard phen Bunnell Sackett under the direction of Wayne Johnson plaved a selection. Little Ruth "Walker, accompanied by her mother, sang two solos. Mrs. Harold Nelson gave a tribute to the older members of the ward. A short talk was given by Mrs. Abel Presbyterian Church Services Announced Regular 10 oclock Sunday school will be conducted Sunday, March 4, by Sergeant Warren Flenner at the Community Presbyterian church. At the 11 oclock morning worship the Reverend Guy L. Margeson, chaplain in the U. S. army stationed at Bushnell General hospital, will conduct. He has been a minister in the Congregational church for 27 years. He has also served for over nine years as chaplain, both in World War I and II. His last parish was in the Lyndon Congregational church in metropolitan Boston. He expects to be released from the service in th very near future, and will become assistant director and professor in a school in KenYou will enjoy him, tucky. Reverend Parrish announced. Rev. Parrish also announced that March 31 will be the end of the church fiscal year. We are in the midst of our financial canvass to begin April our new budget year begins that week, the pastor added.
