Rod Hasler meet with the council to dis- cuss the Preparedness Emergency meeting he has attended presented by the Davis North Council PTA that afternoon. HE SAID he wanted to make the council aware of some of the things that the citizens of Sunset needs to: be aware of. The PTA would like the schools in our area to develope an Emergency Preparedness plan for na- tural disaster. Have the families of our area be prepared to sustain life for their family for 72 hours. Having the fire and police departments of Davis correlated to be1 County School Safety Committee, discuss problem of child safety at the school. prepared tor such emergency. Make the citizens aware that Davis County is the most hazardous county in the state of Utah. COUNCILMAN Norm Sant stated he was in favor of making sunset Citizens aware of this program and the council would whole heartly support and efforts made by the PTA in improving such situations. He recommended that this information be past on to the different departments involved and let them think over the proposal. Mr. Case principal of Fremont Elementary School, Kathy Ryan, PTA president of Fremont Elementary School and Barbara Walterbeek, safety commissioner at Fremont School, presented to the council some safety problems that exist at the Fremont school. CAPABLE THE problems involved the traffic hazards to students attending the school. Some of are the problems cars parking on both sides of 2525 N. prevent drivers from seeing children. Drill Call 2 THE PTA suggested several possible altemtaive to solve the problem, eliminate cars from parking and letting out students at 2525 N. between 8 - 9 a.m. and 2:30 -3:30 p.m. on school days.
