Show WEEKLY REFLEX-DAV- NEWS JOURNAL, SEPTEMBER 2, 1976 IS Seeking Election To School Board AT Mrs. Clara Krebs returned Wednesday evening from St. George where she spent five days visiting with her mother Mrs. Ella Neilson and also with her sister and her husband, Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Tietjen. Eugene Tolman is convalescing at home after returning home from the South Davis Community hospital where he was confined for treatment. Visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Wells F. Collett is their daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Swade and daughters Janeen and Tanya of Simi Valley, California They visited in Portland, Oregon with his parents enroute to Utah. Mr. and Mrs. Collett met the plane in Salt Lake City Friday to pick up their granddaughter Miss Cindy Collett who arrived from Los Gatos, California to attend Brigham Young University They took her to Provo and also while there visited another granddaughter Miss Tom Hayes has announced his candidacy for the Davis County School Board, District 3, representing the citizens of South Weber, East Layton, Kaysville, Fruit Heights, Farmington, Centerville and West Bountiful. HAYES feels he is well qualified for the position because of his extensive background and experience with education in private industry and both state and federal government. Tom has been involved with training and education since he graduated from Utah State University eleven years ago. He has also served in the U.S. Army two years in Germany and one year in Viet Nam attaining the rank of captain. Shortly after returning from the service he worked as a training specialist and as Public Information Officer for the State of Utah Division of Family Services. Perkins celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Saturday August 28 at their home with an openhouse hosted by their children. They were especially happy to have all their children attending the special occassion. Those arriving for the openhouse were Mr and Mrs. Merrill Perkins, Couer dAlene, Idaho; Mr. and Mrs. Dean Perkins, Garden Grove, California. Major assisted them with their move to California and have now returned home Mr. and Mrs. DeWayne Thome spent a few days last week at Idaho Falls, Idaho visiting with friends and relatives. Miss Colleen Hearst of Pennsylvania has been visiting with Mrs. Mary Timothy while enroute to attend Brigham Young University. Mr. and Mrs. William S. Bennett of Kaysville, her Mr. sister and brother-in-laand Mrs. Mark Morgan of Layton, her parents Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Pearson of Farmington attended the wedding and reception of a nephew and grandson, Robert Tahyne at Orem, Friday evening. Ranch for members of the Swan family at their annual Shodeo (Family rodeo) on Saturday September 4 Family members compete in various rodeo activities which is a fun entertainment for all the family. Guests include Mr. and Mrs. Bill Swan and family of Rogerson, Idaho; Mr. and Mrs. Whitlock Swan and family of Hansel Valley, Utah. Also from will be Mr. and Mrs. John Swan and family of Nyssa, Oregon. Scholarships From Betty Crocker BANK PLANS Wright, manager. Mr. Wright and Mr. Mouritsen assumed their positions last week. Ground breaking ceremonies were held Wednesday August 25 at 10:00 a.m. for the construction of a new bank, The First Security State Bank of Kaysville, to be located at 250 North Main. KELLER Construction Company, Salt Lake City, bebuild ing the low bidder, will the 3,040 foot building, which will be an attractive Spanish style structure in white with red tile roof. The building is to be completed within 90 days and will provide access from Crestwood and Mill streets and an exit on to mam street. FULL banking services will be available to the public, including drive-in-windo- night depositatory, safe deposit boxes, all types of loans and etc., also an employees lunch room. The First Security State Bank branch moved to Kaysville the last of October 1976 and set up temporary banking services m Kaysville to the new building nt location BANK officials and employees include, Spencer T. Wright, manager, Richard C. Mouritsen, assistant manager, Dwain Buchanan, marketing officer, and other employees, Helen Pedersen, Marjorie Brande, Libby Smuin and Sueanne Gilkey. Mr. Wright, manager, is a native of Ogden, educated in the Ogden schools. He graduated from Weber State College with a BS degree m economics. HE HAS been employed with First Security Bank since 1969. He was previously manager of First Security Bank of Murray, N.A. (National Association).. He is married to the former Lyn Eckersley of Ogden. They are the parents of three children and are presently residing in Farmington. MR. Mouritsen was bom m Salt Lake City and reared m Cache Valley. He graduated from Brigham Young University with a BS degree in banking and finance. He has been with the First Security Bank the past five years. He is married to the forn.er Katherine Nalder of Layton.
