AUGUAT 12. 1976 IS Girls basketball will take center court Friday night at 7 when the female all stars will trade buckets in the second annual North vs. South game to benefit Utah Cerebral Palsy and Special Olympics. PLAY IS the word according to Coach Avery who wM look for her north team to take a lot of inside shots. Although individual defenses have been suggested for the all star game, Ms. Avery CATHY AVERY, coach for the north team, said the girls athletes on her squad have been practicing two or three times a week since July 10 to prepare for this charity tilt which proceeds the Utah vs. Arizona all star bovs basketball game for graduated high school seniors. Ms. Avery said the teams are capable of scoring up to 75 points in a game which can become "pretty fast and furious. In her third year of coaching girls basketball at Viewmont High School, Ms. Avery was quick to point out that "the girls know how to play basketball. PAM Andersen, voted most pointed out that the girl athletes are schooled on zone principles and she expects her team to use "quite a bit of SYRACUSE SOFTBALL Softball Meet Joining Andersen This group of extra good softball players were most successful in winning their district games. They won every game but one. THEY then entered the Davis County Regional meet and came out being the third place winners. This was a two pun and one lost play. . The dozen girls who played ball were coached by Kay League years. WHILE playing in the Syracuse girls little league games, this team met teams from West Point, Sunset and Syracuse.
